Dr Colossus
Shearer was further out with less of an angle and up against Marcel Desailly. WASN'T ASSISTED BY SAMMY THOUGH WAS IT Chill son, I'm just saying they were similar types of goals.
Mole_Toonfan
I don't think its strength so much in comparison to Cisse and Gouffran. Its more about intelligence, technique etc etc.... his ability to create a yard for himself due to great close control is in another world compared to Cisse who struggles to escape his markers when in possession. Although one thing is for sure no matter how strong they actually are Gouffran definitely asserts himself more, i don't necessarily think Cisse is as weak as it all seems but he doesn't really seem to assert himself properly which goes a long way in winning physical battles. thomas
Gouffran has such a nice chin.
Kanj
Gouffran seems to be getting his shots off better as well, he always seemed a split second too late which ended up with a block.
TRon
He is a lot stronger than I thought when arrived, he's worked hard and done really well for us. Not sure I would drop Cisse now he's scored though, just the feeling of heading the ball in the net must have given him a big boost. He is a strong lad for his size, like. Knows how to use his body too. Far better than Cisse out of the box, that's not even really up for debate. I'm starting to wonder if Pardew had ANY input in the Cisse signing. He offers so little apart from shooting on sight. Would Pardew really have looked at him and thought he could use him as a central point of attack? Why not? he's still using him there now, you would have thought he'd had plenty of opportunity to give Gouffran a go if he didn't rate Cisse.
Ronaldo
The difference between rating someone and choosing them for your style of football. Neither Gouffran nor Cisse are the type of striker we need to get the best out of the rest of the side, in fairness.
Miercoles
Finally saw Goof's goal, it was a cracker! Not sure what you guys are arguing about at the moment, and don't feel the need to join in, but that's a quality strike by any standard. Hope for many more like that from this dude. Belfast Mags
Thought Gouff showed the most drive tonight, looked like he was trying (which he always has done tbf). Not disgraced at all.

Ronaldo
Out wide he adds to the creativity problem. Through the middle or on the bench.

Rebellious
Thought Gouff showed the most drive tonight, looked like he was trying (which he always has done tbf). Not disgraced at all. done alright deserves to keep his place. He seemed to be the only one that gave a shit last night. Tiote and Anita tried but had no one to release the ball to as Gouffy was doing Santons job.
Lush Vlad
Played well. Showed pace and the odd bit of skill. Was unlucky not to score. Should be starting ahead of Cisse from now on and I'd rather see him through the middle than Remy.
The College Dropout
You look at our side and you simply have to question some of the lads desire. Not Gouff however, puts in a great shift. I thought a couple of his left foot deliveries where decent tbh but i'd love to see him start in the middle. I can kinda see Pardew's logic with Remy up top. I thought we would come and play deep and compact, looking to spring Remy on the counter attack with balls over the top. Never went like that and we ended up hooking it to his head which got denied ever time.
Nobody
Easily our best player yesterday, worked his bollocks off all game. Graet to see him finally get 90 minutes as well.
alexf
Probably our most consistent player this year. Never going to hit the heights of any inform Remy or Ben Arfa but he never has a terrible game or anything. Shame he hit the post, don't think he did a great deal wrong with that chance. Guest hatem garrincha
Out wide he adds to the creativity problem. Agreed. Played (very well) as second RB all first half last night . But it's Pardew choice.

Pilko
Dived in far too much when he was defending, but an absolutely monumental effort from Gouff I thought. He puts in just as much graft as Gutierrez does for the cause, with the added benefit of being a bit good at football also.
jdckelly
strange player, I love his workrate etc yet he hasn't shown much of what strikers are for the ability to put the ball in the net
Mole_Toonfan
strange player, I love his workrate etc yet he hasn't shown much of what strikers are for the ability to put the ball in the net Might be because we are using him as a workhorse winger and doesn't get into position to do that. Remy does play outwide as well but it seems he's instructed to get in the box as much as possible, so a little different.
