Quick Google search of Lucas Cominelli, after being released by us he played for Granada, Avellino, Las Palmas, Paheng, Oxford United, Ceuta, Agia Napa, Ethnikos & Vecindario, and is currently the agent of Faurlin at QPR & Lucho Gonzalez.

Love s*** like that.

Zaki?

Yes.

Just googled him, he used to fast everyday even in a matchday.

A bit too much for steve bruce's nerve.

I kinda liked Zaki, sure i did. If he wasn't such a cunt he probably could have forged a decent career here. Unless i'm way off the mark here.

Stephen Glass.

7 Goals in 42 Apps (I believe most of them are sub apps)

Not bad for a winger.

Remember playing CM4 and picking Watford.

I had Glass and Gavilan on either wing. Used to batter teams.

What did happen to Diego Gavilan?

Still playing over in South America. Journeyman career.

There was another one that you had Hugo Viana? Take it he didn't pull up any trees either.

Depends how you class it, didn't reach his potential but played for Portugal a fair few times (scored past England in one of the pen shootouts , 2006 I think) and had a decent spell with Braga (played in their run to the EL final). Over getting some petrodollars now IIRC.

Could've been so much more though, both here and elsewhere.

Aye, it was a shame with Hugo Viana, he had a lot of class about him but there wasn't really room for him in that team.  It seemed like he was brought in as Speed's long-term replacement but was more often played out on the left wing IIRC.  Probably a bit too young for such a big move and it seemed to faze him quite a bit.

Updates!

Collins John

"I'm delighted that a player of Collins John's ability has signed for the club,"............... said Barnet coach Mark Robson.

The Liberian born striker signed for around £600k, had a blistering start for Fulham, ending the season as their top scorer. Tailed out and has had spells at Leicester City, Watford, N.E.C Breda, Roselare (Belgium) and Chicago Fire before Tony Adams signed him for Gabala (Azerbaijan). Adams left, and so did John, packing his bags and moving to Mes Sarcheshmeh (Iran) before being brought in by Barnet chairman Anthony Kleanthous to play under Edgar Davids. He is now a free agent after having his contract terminated from Barnet playing only 75 minutes in 5 months for the league 2 club. Still only 27.

Update:

After Barnet he went on to trial at Go Ahead Eagles without any luck. He went on to sign a two year deal in June 2013 with Polish team Piast Gliwice who, upon actually watching him play, loaned him out to their reserve team a few divisions down. Nothing really happened until 10 months later in March 2014 when he signed for USL Pro (3rd tier) team Pittburgh Riverhounds. After 4 goals, 11 appearances and a violent conduct offence he terminated his contract for no specific reason. Most recently Collins John has been spotted on trial at Crawley Town but failing to win over John Gregory. Collins John is now 29.

Amr Zaki

"after Portsmouth signed an Israeli player and also hired an Israeli football director a possible move was ruled out. On top of that, no way could I play at Portsmouth with an Algerian within their ranks."

Egyptian born striker once likened to Alan Shearer by Dave Whelan. Signed on loan from Zamalek, Zaki had a eventful couple of seasons in the Premiership with an mildly impressive goal tally of 11 in his first season. However, the lure of not returning to play under Steve Bruce proved too much and he hid in Egypt for a while. Despite being fined absolutely loads by Steve Bruce he stayed, with Steve Bruce declaring the club would not be taking up the option of making his loan deal permanent. After a sort of odd spell at Hull City he moved to Turkey to play for Elazığspor (after a brief bout of interest from Blackpool). Once the Turkish club stopped paying him he rescinded his contract and is now a free agent.

Update:

Elazığspor decided, after no-one met their price-tag of 400k, to stop paying Zaki until he left. His old club Zamalek rejected his offer to move back so he joined his other old club ENPPI (Engineering for the Petroleum and Process Industries Club) but immediately, as in the past, had a disagreement. His contract was terminated after just 12 days and Zaki was left without a club. This was until Al-Salmiya, Kuwaiti league side, came in with an offer in 2013. He played for a few months before again having his contract terminated, citing issues with injury and salary, and left off to find a team in Europe. Somehow, this led him to Moroccan champions Raya Casablanca. Right after passing his medical he shattered his foot in a friendly. Zaki was flown to Munich to see a specialist doctor who advised that Zaki needed urgent surgery. Raya Casablanca ignored this and didn't reply. In late 2013 Zaki terminated his contract again and, for the 4th time in 2 years, was a free agent. After a year absence Zaki signed a one-year deal with Lebanese side Al-Ahed in August 2014 after "long negotiations" but, citing a previous injury, terminated his contract a month later. Zaki is now a free agent. His brother, Saber Zaki, has recently been banned for life from coaching for insulting other coaches via SMS. Surely, the Zaki's reign of terror over World football has come to an end.

I just don't get someone like Collins John.  I remember seeing him score all those goals for Fulham and looking like a very good prospect and then he ends  being on trial at Crawley Town.

Is someone like him just not very good to begin with and got lucky?
