Newcastle United vs. Benfica - 11/04/13 @ 8.05pm (ITV4)

Nah its not :)

You see Newcastle is a better club than Everton IMO, and yet when we trashed them 5-0, when I lurked their forums I saw some of their fans demand a 7-0 win at Goodison Park to make up for it  :idiot2:

Your fans who come over should love it because we're a lot friendlier towards away fans, although Sunday will rightly be totally different.

Did someone forget the question regarding posting football videos already?

Signed up a few hours ago :yao:

I registered just to post that and in the meantime completely forgot it was against the rules.

My apologies

It's okay man, I feel like a dick really because the rest of your post was great!

We hate the stupid rule, but sadly we've been closed down in the past due to having copyright material showing on the site.

Thanks for the kind comments and I'm sure they're returned your way from many of us on here. I hope we somehow get past you in a clean, fair game but that you win the league to make up for the disappointment.

It should be an interesting night.

Same here man :)

If Benfica manages to get through I hope you guys at least hammer Scumderland(I saw someone say that herexD) and avoid relegation to make up for it.

Ive been a long time lurker of forums from away teams that benfica faces, and out of all of them(everton, liverpool, chelsea, man utd e.t.c) you guys are the most humble and down to earth, and definetely the best so far.

Sorry in advance for the diving our players do, you see, here in our league, physical contact is mostly frowned upon in favour of tecnical football, so it might get in the nerves of fans from a much more physical league like yours.

Kind words

It will be a shame, should we go out, that our season's joy will come from avoiding relegation/beating the mackems. Could scarcely have lower ambitions quite frankly

I'd give absolutely anything to go through in this like.

A chance to make it to a European Semi Final man. It'll be a special night regardless.

What's your best european record btw?

Hopefully we'll grab it this year, sorry but we need it more  >:D

We haven't won any thing since. We need it way more than you

We've won much bigger trophies than Benfica since then, tbh.

If Newcastle gets to the semi finals it will be with a 3-1 (penalties) or 4-1, I bet Jotenkos balls that we will score at least one goal, i'ts almost impossible you guys get a clean sheet.

So how many fans are they bringing? 1500? 10000?

1500 will be a poor show for such a big club.

1500 is most likely. Weve had 10000(+) away at France and Germany because theres big portuguese communities there. The same isnt going to happen in England this time though we did have 5000 at Old Trafford last year.

Aye, unfortunately I can't see a clean sheet for us, going to be so fucking hard on Thursday, can't wait :)

Eusebio best player ever huh?

Anyways; I agree that it seems unlikely we'll keep a clean sheet. But knowing football that is very much possible. If Krul has one of those days where he saves everything I don't see why we'd be certain to concede. FWIW it's either going to be 1-0 to us or 1-1. I don't believe in a high scoring game.

I agree, just because something is very likely, it doesnt mean its going to happen, though I think this will be a high scoring game for either sides.

The last time we were in EL quarters we won 4-1 agaisnt PSV at home, and in the the return leg at Eidhoven, PSV managed to get to 2-0 in the first half! before luisao scored 2-1 and cardozo finishing the game with 2-2

So my point is, should Newcastle score an early one, it will put our players in a lot of pressure theyre not normally used to dealing with, and it will depend a lot on wether we can get the tranquilizing away goal.
