Ronaldo
Just shows how close Jonas is to a starting position as a winger, even if most of the squad is fit and available. Needs sorting desperately. Also we might as well shift Marveaux on, he'll hardly ever play. Which is exactly why 'we' shouldn't be turning our noses up at Downing, tbh.
Ronaldo
Not sure why anyone is taking pre-season games this seriously but fair enough I wouldn't usually care but signings not withstanding this team is going to start on opening day. Jon loves Jonas.
Ikon
Not sure why anyone is taking pre-season games this seriously but fair enough Probably because it's inevitable that Pardew will keep on making stupid selections/decisions during the season =/

Mole_Toonfan
Using that set up as Pardew clearly has this in his mind but with different players.... Sissoko Cabaye Remy Ben Arfa New LW Cisse As long as the LW is of any sort of quality it would suddenly look a lot better, its up to Pardew to actually see this. You left Tiote out, Mole you drunk ? Nope but Pardew clearly is for keep starting him all the time.
Tiresias
I still think Ben Arfa can play no 10 happily, may even be the best role for him imo

Agree, this is what I was saying last night. Fair enough if we're getting someone better instead but it would be canny if we got a move on.

Agree with that i'd rather have someone better but if it comes down to it i'd rather have Downing over Jonas all day every day.

Even if we do get a 'replacement' left winger I could still see Pardew starting Jonas in more fixtures than the replacement to be honest.
Guest bimpy474
Moshni is a proper mentalist for Rangers, i saw him score a hat trick for Saafend v Barnet (11/12). True story
Kasper
I still think Ben Arfa can play no 10 happily, may even be the best role for him imo Really can't see how that would work. His dribbling has been the best and most exciting attribute and in the middle he'll get crowded out way too often. He's been amazing on the right when fit. Why move him somewhere else? Hatem's best out wide. Always has been.
AlanSkÃrare
Moussa Sissoko will take up a role wide on the right, with Jonas Gutierrez on the opposite flank and Hatem Ben Arfa in the number ten role
TaylorJ_01
I'm terrified of one of these awful, clumsy cloggers injuring our players (apart from Jonas, break him).

The only thing i can think of with Remy coming in and rumoured to be after a LW, Pardew wants to find a way to fit them all in. NEW LW-Hatem-Remy behind Cisse would be pretty good tbf. But until we get these players it looks like a sack of shit admitted.

Cajun
Not sure why anyone is taking pre-season games this seriously but fair enough It's the lack of trying something different that worries i think mate. Say we dont use this formation this season, why use it right up to the first game. It's all about fitness at the moment tbh. I will take a bet with anyone that Jonas isn't in our first choice 11 when everyone is fit.
SiLvOR
I'm terrified of one of these awful, clumsy cloggers injuring our players (apart from Jonas, break him). Well that'll be Hatem injured, with his boot subsequently flying off and nailing Krul in the eye. Cheers mate.
Tiresias
Hmmm maybe just the point is to have people on the flanks and let ben arfa wander freely. On wings imo (because he;s told to i suspect) he ends up starting from way too deep.

Ikon
Fitness is important of course, but try and get the team play football with a flow and you'll not just get fitness but also a team playing football..
