The Battle For More Points than 2010/11 - SUCCESS!

To be on the optimistic side.

1 - The side did finish 5th (and if not for a stupid throw in, would have finished 4th) only two seasons ago.

2 - That side is arguably worse than the side we are running with this season.

3 - They no longer have Europa league games, therefore the risk of injury and tiredness is lower.

4 - Many of the Jan purchases will be better adjusted to the team, tactics and style of English football.

5 - Pardew should have a real fear for his job, which might see him be more open with his tactical decisions.

Of course in saying this, the negative side could take up a few pages.

:anguish:

Pardew bottled it against Man City at SJP. Negative c***.

Complaining that he didn't get us 4th  No pleasing some.

Nope, not complaining about not achieving 4th. Simply highlighting negativity and lack of bulls.

Just seen on Sky Sports News that they have a poll up for 'Who will win the Premier League Title?'

The presenter has just said they chose the teams that finished in the top 8 last year. There seems to be a huge error then, because we are on there!

Arsenal

Chelsea

Everton

Liverpool

Manchester City

Manchester Utd

Newcastle

Tottenham

At least we're in someone's thought process!  O0

Currently stands at..

Arsenal - 9%

Chelsea - 26%

Everton - 4%

Liverpool - 14%

Manchester City - 15%

Manchester Utd - 22%

Newcastle - 1%

Tottenham - 9%

1% - I know we shouldn't be on the poll, but that is still a little demoralising  :'(

Do you see us as rivals Neil? :cheesy:

Is it that time of year again?

Reminds me of the groundhog from Groundhog Day (which having quickly googled, is pretty much identical to the depiction in Bill Murray's classic)

No, because if we had finished 4th, Ashley would have taken that pile of CL money and bought heavily!

Think of it as a balance to the general tendency of wallowing in the worst-case scenario, trying to be gloomier and more self-pitying than the last poster.

How many of those "wallowing in the worst-case scenario" predicted we'd finish 5th bottom last season?
