Although it makes sense as it means we've done our required homework on the player (in theory, limiting the risk of signing a flop), sadly it also means we will tend to miss out some of the opportunistic signings like Shaqiri. We seem to go through our list and when we are turned down e.g Thauvin, Matip, we don't have any back up plan. The only one left on our list who is available is probably Austin.
