The Managerial Merry Go Round™ - Ivan Juric to Southampton

Recommended Posts

Can't see what Mackay has done wrong here. Cardiff's league position is where it should be thereabouts, in fact putting on a bit of a fight until Vincent Tan revealed his madness.

Those three managers got sacked for less, the common denominator being they were sacked harshly as Mackay is by some insane owner.

For £32 Million spent before add ons I would expect to be better off than 1 point above the relagation zone.

Well the last thing you would want when you're going to be involved in a relegation dogfight is the negative atmosphere and protests at games. What difference has his few weeks of resistance made? I think that it has only served to turn more of their support against their owner when instead they should be focusing on keeping the club up. A bit of the Blackburn situation all over again.

The negative atmosphere and protests are all due to the stupidity of the owner and the manager should gladly take it up the arse, and leave without his compensation? That's ridiculously flawed logic like.

That's the fault of Iain Moody who has since been sacked, and of Vincent Tan for not appointing the proper footballing administrators.

The league table is very interesting at the moment. It's pretty much split directly into two.  You have the top 8/9 with 5 points separating 4 to 8th with Southampton a little a drift of the pack.

Then pretty much everyone from Stoke onwards  are bunched together.

Literally 1 or 2 results and it's all good ala Hull or Villa when they picked up a few wins. Literally a couple defeats and the pressure is back on.

Moyes is the 10th longest-serving manager in the Premiership

:o

Arsene Wenger (6297 days) has been in charge of Arsenal only 102 days fewer than the rest of the current Premier League managers combined

I thought it would easily be longer than the rest combined tbh. ???

I find Mackay a bit selfish in all this. His relations with Tan had deteriorated long ago and Cardiff aren't doing well so he can't say his sacking is unjustfied . Then when given the chance like AVB at Spurs to step down he refuses, tries to use the sympathy he does rightly deserve to come out of this as a martyr. Total lack of class  :thdn:

I agree with this, sure Tan has acted like a prat with his outbursts in the media, but had he kept his gob shut and sacked Mackey round about this time now, there would not be such a big outrage.

We are last fans to be critical of Tan considering the idiot we got ourselves.  Didn't Chris Hughton get the bullet even earlier than Mackay? And we were higher up the table too if I'm not mistaken.
