Sporting finishing 3rd is essentially them finishing bottom of their mini league at the top, and Olympiakos are basically Celtic where it's a waste of time for anyone else turning up. From the Hull front office perspective they needed someone from abroad that wouldn't necessarily know the turmoil happening within the club.
