People keep trying to act like INEOS are tight because they're streamlining payroll to a level similar to City and Liverpool, but truth is they've met whatever release clause or fee that has been requested by all selling clubs, with the exception being the utter nonsensical £20m stance for a sporting director. I think the vast majority of your fans know you handled the situation poorly. So all I'm saying in response to your point is, the compensation money was likely always there, but Newcastle negotiating the way they did meant you received a much lower fee than you should and could have received. Theregulars
Could work out but I don’t see how they really kick on as long as the main objective of the organisation is global profit and merchandise. They’ve not changed since Van Gaal correctly identified that the actual football is of secondary importance. You’d imagine there is also an element of transition coming up, although maybe underperformers will be re-engaged. Portuguese league slightly pony but Mourinho certainly was, for a short period, the real thing; so eminently possible this guy can do it too. PS custard tart nonce You’re right re Mourinho of course - though he did win the UEFA Cup then the European Cup with Porto in successive seasons; an achievement no-one has come close to since when managing outside the ‘big five’ European leagues. Did they just appoint him on name recognition? If they’d watched the tiniest bit of the football he’s plays they’d know he’s ultra negative. Shows you can make (mostly) the right moves in the transfer market and still fuck things with the wrong manager. Fullkrug continuing the proud tradition of buying flavour of the month European strikers that make zero impact. Good player but seemingly has turned into the German Wilson injury wise.
