BottledDog
Speaking on his Instagram account, De Boer said: “Very disappointed about the decision but never the less I want to thank the players, staff and the fans for their support. Good luck for the future.”
Altamullan
Hope we stuff them when they come to SJP in October.
Kimbo
Roy Hodgson, fucking hell. He was on that sky debate show recently saying he wanted another job, I bet Parish heard that and got all excited.
Away Day Gadgie
Got a feeling Hodgson would do a decent job for them, or at least keep them in the league. It seems like his type of job. Doesn't take away how pathetic it is going back on your so-called new policy after 4 games though!
afar
Unfortunately this probably saves them, Hodgson has done a great job in similar circumstances in the past at WBA and Fulham. Hopefully though the England experience and the advancing years have changed him, of all the clubs in the division they are perhaps the team I would be most happy to see go down. louistoon
Riddiculous decision, but given who their next four games are, I can understand. Could be 8 games in without a point if they are not careful. This way they can blood someone in over the next four. I'm starting to think we may have over-rated their squad. They have good wingers and forwards but seem very light in centre mid and at the back.

Ketsbaia
They've got Southampton, Man Utd, Man City and Chelsea up next. Can only see them on 0 or 1 point after 8 games.

Southampton are a bit of a mess too at the moment, this sacking may give them the "bounce" they need to beat them or it could have the opposite effect, if they don't get Hodgson in in time.. Then the next three games look rough before they come to us I think, hope we are not their first win of the season.
Figures 1-0 Football
It's just a disgraceful decision in every way possible really. To top it off by replacing him with someone who is so out of touch with the current game is unreal Gives them every chance of finishing below us though, which is great news. Wonder how Benteke is at taking corners.
timeEd32
I think after yesterday's performance he should have gotten more time, but it's not really that surprising. The PL TV money is only going to accelerate the already ridiculous short-term thinking.
Hanshithispantz
Sacked after 4 games man Is that anywhere near a record? Edit: well I mean it's obviously near, so what is the record I suppose I should ask.
KaKa
This is ridiculous Everybody talks about wanting to play good football but they don't want to commit to it really. If they wanted a faster transformation then they should have given De Boer more resources and freedom to change the players. Instead, they ended up handing him players that had been drilled into playing Allardyce football and before him Alan Pardew's football. That is a hell of a task man! If that's the approach you are going with then you have to be prepared to stick by the manager for a good while to ride the initial ups and downs. So now they've thrown in the towel after four games and gone right back to square one with another guy that plays percentages and tells you every week that the goal is to keep you up. How utterly depressing.
Dave
Only way it can be justified is if things are really bad behind the scenes but you've got to question the decision to appoint him in the first place in that case. As per usual, the bigger problem is the amount of money in the Premier League. The stakes are too high.
KaKa
There were some reports going round a couple of weeks ago from De Boer about how shocked he was at the lack of willingness of players to take risks in passing the ball forward. The guy seemed completely stunned at the level of the players and just their mindset and approach to the game (that Pards and Allardyce effect!). Maybe the club just felt the players they have would never get it, and so decided to change the manager, as that is the quicker and easier fix after not doing more to change the players in the summer. Stifler
It took us 2 managers and over a year into Rafa's reign to start losing the effects of Pardew's reign. Even now there is still some of it lingering around, not least shit players. As if Palace thought it would take no more than 4 games to get rid of the affects of Pardew and Fat Sam. As per usual, the bigger problem is the amount of money in the Premier League. The stakes are too high. Agreed, it seems they had no idea what he was about when they gave him the job. Otherwise how much can have changed in the space of four games? Hodgson would probably be a safe pair of hands, but then really they should have gone for someone like that in the first place. No-one knows what happened afterwards but apparently he quit the next day. How they were allowed to get in an how no one did anything to stop them when they were there is beyond belief. Stottie
I didn't see the Swansea - Palace game but it sounds like they were unlucky to lose that one as well. The expression "sacked four games into the season" has echoes of SBR. That was after two draws and two defeats. One of the draws would have been a win but for JFH blatantly punching the ball into the net with minutes remaining. It's into "what if" territory, but if that goal gets disallowed, we don't get Souness, the SBR team doesn't get dismantled, and maybe we get a more peaceful transition at better timing to a manager who is not a hot-heated fuckwit. If we are playing full speculation, I doubt we end up with Ashley either. Hopefully de Boer gets a big cheque and a chance to rebuilt his rep somewhere less looney, though I guess it might be back in Holland.
