The Managerial Merry Go Round™ - Vitor Pereira to Wolves

Recommended Posts

Wasn't Sherwood quoted as recently saying he likes his attackers to attack and his defenders to defend, or words to that effect?  IIRC, it's quite an antiquated view of football that will automatically impose a glass ceiling on him.

Are there any English managers working today who don't share this viewpoint to some extent?

Pard Nut.  He likes his defenders to defend and his attackers to defend.

Sherwood said after the Chelsea game "if anyone thinks we should finish in the top four, they want to wake up". Levy should have sacked him for saying that.

If you compared Spurs squad to the others around them, they had a more than realistic chance of finishing top four. Sherwoods a fucking dinosaur,  very much in the same bracket as Pardew. In fact, Sherwood is worse.

He's not worse, he humiliated Pards 4-0 at St. James. Still a muppet as well though.

 Worse? Ok, he's managed like 4 months in the top tier football and I can say I'd rather have him here than Pardew who has been managing for the past decade without success.

Going by that logic, Pardews better than Mourinho, since we beat Chelsea at home.

The point is that they are both clueless, negative, wankers.

Haven't watched much of Spurs but wasn't Sherwood starting 10 offensive midfielders in the beginning? What happened?

I thought Lineker nailed it with his tweet during Spurs/Chelsea 'Gob smacked by Spurs' formation. Have the players taken a lucky dip for their positions?'

It looked exactly that, was very strange from Sherwood. You wouldn't have gathered he was in the wrong as well by his interview mind.

Sherwood played Kyle Walker in the middle after Kaboul's sending off.

That's one of the worst decisions I've seen from any manager.

To say Pardew has been managing for the past decade without any success is a bit of liberty.

A Pardew team 3 years in the making, nonetheless. He literally turned up and said 'don't give them the ball that much' and they won.

How come everyone who comes against Pardew and won, they've tactically outwitted him because he's shit, yet if Pardew gets his number over a manager, nothing is made of it? It’s load of horseshit, like. Who is the better manager should be decided over a decent stint of a career, not one or two matches against each other.

Agreed. So why do you rate Pardew again?

Not sure rate is the word, just think he’s a bang average manager. He's not the worlds worst like people make out. He's very fortunate to be in the job he is and he'll never get a job as big as this again though i fancy him now to be around a lower level PL club once he's left here, and that’s imo his limit. Low PL or high championship, around the Hughton marker.

Aye, 'managing' is a bit of a stretch like.

Sherwood comes over as false and won't last long. He was a decent player mind, if nothing special, and although Blackburn had Shearer, they were a very good all-rounded side to be fair. They were not a one man man team in any shape or form. Man Utd had the better individuals and more flair and pace, but Blackburn were the better team, set up better and played to their strengths more. Flowers, Hendry, Le Saux, Ripley, Batty, Shearer, Sutton et al were all top players at the top of their game. They were a very balanced side.
