League Cup 4th Rd Draw - NUFC v Man City @ 7:45pm on 30th October (on SkySports)

Recommended Posts

Due a win.

Forget it. We can't beat them, not under this bloke, he tells us often enough.

We've beaten Man U and Chelsea under this bloke. You're focusing too much on a couple of shite comments.

We have a terrible record against them recently because they're a lot better than us. A lot of teams have a terrible record against them. Probably won't beat them, but there's no need to whinge in advance.

 I believe your comments are falling on deaf ears, but I like the sentiment

coming just after the derby on the Sunday will cause potential problem as now NUFC and SAFC will want there home games on the Wednesday.  NUFC normally always play on the Wednesday while the mackems play on the Tuesday but can see sky putting Arsenal v Chelsea live on the wednesday night and us and Man City on the Tuesday.

It's a nightmare really, if they televise our game as well as Arsenal/Chelsea there's no scenario where every team is happy - unless they can move the derby to Saturday or don't televise us vs Man City

The bits regarding the draw from Ryder's article.

Pardew not disheartened by Manchester City cup draw

25 Sep 2013 22:44

Newcastle United will face Manchester City in the last-16 of the Capital One Cup, but manager Alan Pardew was not disheartened after the draw was made

Alan Pardew was not disheartened by Newcastle United's tough fourth round draw against Manchester City next month.

The Magpies now face the moneybags title contenders for the right to earn a place in the last eight.

And immediately after the draw was made, Pardew said: "Well, it's a home tie.

"I am 100 per cent at home in the cup."

Utter nothingness.

Rest of the article he goes on to talk about Dummett and Sammy's performances.

just checked the fixtures and Chelsea are at home to Man City on the sunday, presumably the 2nd part of super sunday after our game.

Exactly, hopefully we stand our ground and refuse to play on the Tuesday even if it means missing out on the TV money. Oh.

It's not like City need that cash though so hopefully they'll insist on it being the Wednesday.

Wonder if they'll play a "second-choice" squad, as they did against Wigan.

Not that it matters.

Aye there isn't much to be frightened of from the team that started against Wigan....

Problem is when the bring on the heavy artillery like they did against Wigan in Yaya, Navas and Negredo.

And we all know what Yaya is like against us :(

They have a tough run of fixtures,

West Ham, CSKA, Chelsea and then us. All of them are away.

I'm hoping for a majority of their players to be knackered.

Quarter Finals.

Closest I've seen us win this was 2001-2, got to the last 8 again, seem to remember O'Brien missing a pretty simple header and Hasslebaink scoring in the last minute. We would have had Spurs in the Semis who were average that season, then Blackburn in the Final.
