Rich
The amount of distance each nation has to travel for the group games alone: http://i.imgur.com/j9J2uJY.png Could be something to consider for those gamblers amongst us when the time comes, if nothing else. The distances the top 12 with the bookies have to cover, should they get to the final: http://i.imgur.com/KLNFC8C.png

Yorkie
Bit mad how Belgium and Argentina have so much less travelling.
Disco
The main mad thing is that they didn't regional-ise the groups like they're going to in Russia. Especially given the less than adequate infrastructure in Brazil. Both for fans and teams.
Flip
Rich I mentioned it earlier in this thread that the distance and also weather changes might play a big role. Italy v England in the first game up in Manaus might actually break one of the teams. Italy was complaining about Recife being humid and hot during the Confederations Cup, Manaus is much worse in that aspect. They also play in Recife and Natal If they do get through they'll be absolutely exhausted from those three games, can see a lot of rotation within their squad to keep fresh. The US plays in the same cities so expect them to have a lot of problem. Think Ghana will benefit from it but it won't be enough to go past the group. I know Baba said it doesn't make a difference for african teams because most players play in Europe, but it's in the DNA because I know the Brazilian and a lot of South American players have praised playing in very hot weather. Rich
http://www.sportstradingnetwork.com/road-rio/ That was the article it was taken from, which may be a bit dull on the whole but does have some interesting tidbits.

Disco
Looking at that I'd forgotten the massive disparity between some of the groups. Could make a case for 6 of the teams in B or G being stronger than all in Group H.

You know what I mean ffs, I didn't mean literally in their DNA. These guys grew up playing hot weather and there are tons of players who have said that they like the humidity, fucking christ your a bore sometimes CD. The College Dropout
A decade in Europe is a major factor. Especially Northern Europe.
Flip
A decade in Europe is a major factor. Especially Northern Europe. From personal experience I'm born in Sweden, lived in northern Europe most my life and it makes no difference to me. I actually prefer to play at 30 degrees and humidity more or less and until today can't handle cold. I wonder whether that's me or my Brazilian gene Granted I've never played professionally. Flip
A decade in Europe is a major factor. Especially Northern Europe. Also like my initial point isn't that they'll love playing in Manaus, it's about them being able to handle it much better than those who have never experienced that kind of heat. Just to make it clear.
Kaizero
Am I understanding TCD correctly in him saying Brazilians who've been out of Brazil for a few years will struggle to play in Brazil? What is this?
