sunderland 2 - 1 Newcastle United - 27/10/13 - post-match reaction from page 47

Recommended Posts

Tiote was good yesterday but his part in their first can't be overlooked. I don't just mean him sauntering back ahead of the defenders, which is actually almost forgiveable, given he had just sustained a knock. The main part was when he casually gave the ball away in his own half, a minute or so before. Without creating an obvious chance, we had them under the cosh for several minutes prior to his stupid misplaced pass. It's something we do with alarming regularity; we'll have a good spell then make an 'obvious' daft pass or, more frequently, make a needless foul in the middle of the park - alleviating the pressure on the opposition and killing off our momentum. Infuriating.

It's a pity because he was excellent prior to that, contributing in all areas of the pitch. He was particularly unlucky with one incident shortly after we'd scored, where he was adjudged to have fouled Sturridge after snaking his way into the box from the left-wing. It was never a foul and could have created a big chance.

Embarrassing how we allowed them to control the match with nothing but effort and desire.

We were so slow, so plodding, so unbelievably leaden in attack it was embarrassing.

Pardew's managed 6 points from a possible 18 against those. That's pitiful especially considering how shit they've been.

At 70mins I thought there was only one team going to win it - us.  Then he took Remy off for Shola.  Aye, there wasn't a lot of chances going our way, but I thought it was only a matter of time before we scored again.

However, they have won the world cup. Good luck to them.

 Open C with the Garnett gifs. Might find a Cricket gif as a reply.

  Dude seemed appropriate :)

Personally, I look forward to seeing the t-shirts.  2-1 at the top, picture of Borini in the middle, today's date at the bottom.  "1-9 FTM" as a backprint, presumably.

 The ghost of PDC in there somewhere, sliding on the grass of oblivion.

Our PDC was sliding on his arse on the grass all right. Wank performance.

An absolute abomination.  The worst team in the league until we turn up and make them look like fucking giants.

We looked naive and clueless for the majority of the game.  The number of times someone's first touch let the ball bounce 10 yards off them was unreal, only made worse by the number of times simple passes went straight to Sunderland players.

When our players can't get a cross to connect our backup tactics seem to be nothing more than give it to Cabaye to hit from range, most of the time it fails miserably and should never be relied upon to get goals.  We hardly ever have players running into space in the box where a ball might drop from a clumsy clearance, the one time that a player did make that run coincided with a miss-hit shot that worked as a cross along the ground in front of goal & led to our goal yet we continued, and will continue in future games, to hit pointless crosses high into the air to no effect.

This shit will not change until Pardew and every member of the backroom staff is fired and are replaced by people who have a fucking clue.

We weren't that bad but we just cracked under the pressure. Defensively we were ok but going forward we did look clueless at times with Cisse/Remy/Ben Arfa and Gouffran not getting near the penalty box enough. I think a draw was a fair result in footballing terms but they maybe showed more determination and guile to deserve all 3 points. I just hope that we didn't kickstart their season

They were absolutely shit and in no way deserved to win that. Still, a draw isn't good enough against a team as rubbish as that. Pardew's decision-making let us down badly, they contained us well but we played right into their 6-fingered hands.

That's 4 belters they've scored against us in the last 2 games. Cunts.

Harsh on Gouffran. he gave everything and defended well wherever he was, winning headers etc. But maybe he went missing going forward.

You must have been watching a different game to me.

To be fair to dummet he is not a fucking cb and shouldn't be playing there. Certainly not a premier league cb. Pardew Absolutely fed him to the wolves today and should have protected him more by putting santon in the middle, who at least has first team experience there and could take the flack from a bad performance. He has risked potentially ruining a promising player today.
