Varadi
I would agree that what Pardew says makes no real difference in the final outcome when it comes to player sales or acquisitions. I also have little doubt he would far rather have Cabaye available to him for the rest of the season, as ultimately he stands or falls by the results achieved on the pitch. Hanshithispantz
Pardew's biggest embarrassment has been categorically saying Carroll would not be sold. 100%. Then selling him He's learned not to give those assurances now. We've brought in Kinnear to talk absolute bollocks instead. His truthful answers seemed less about offloading the player and more about avoiding a repeat of his earlier mistakes. Pardew did say Cabaye wouldn't be sold btw, 2 weeks ago: "I've seen £22million mentioned as the price for Cabaye, but it isn't our price. We don't want to sell him, of course we don't," Today: "Fee agreed in the region of £20m" Those are still the best quotes he's made through this whole saga, I certainly prefer to read stuff like that, regardless of the final outcome, to nonesense like "he has really taken to it and it has boosted his confidence and boosted his value as well." Which you know isn't the case, especially if they had a brilliant one just before.

I think he would've been sacked by now had he not turned things around this season - the 5th place finish bought him last season's failure I reckon. Finish outside the top 10 this season and I think he might be gone. Sadly finishing in the top 10 is the marker for success, avoid 5th at all costs. Not so sure, i thought the shit football brought last seasons debacle. I can see his arse falling out now though. He'll panic now Cabaye has gone. There's plenty of things that he does control to judge him on, and no shortage of judgement either.
Ste
I don't think we would sack him if we finished outside the top ten, as if our ambitions are that lofty.
BottledDog
I don't think we would sack him if we finished outside the top ten, as if our ambitions are that lofty. Hell noooo we wouldn't, we'd save the club having to pay the players and all the club staff the top ten bonus! If I was Ashley I'd sack him now for being as high as we are. Not sure we would either, depends on how the season went. If we battled relegation for most of it then climbed up to tenth through a couple of late wins he might be in danger. As it is I don't think it matters where we finish now.

Guest Haris Vuckic
Either Pardew or someone very similar. He wont have a manager that doesn't sing from the same hymn sheet as the regime.
Lotus
IF we don't bring in a creative midfielder this window surely Pardew has to feel shafted? The only reason he wouldn't feel hard done by was if he got a cut of the Cabaye deal. Otherwise he's lost his best player and the only scrap he's been tossed is a lad whose proven he can do absolutely nothing outside of Holland. Anita covering the shit out of everyone and Tiote not allowed to drift. that is fucking madness tbf, 90% of the teams in the league would take us apart playing that I did wonder. Personally I'm a big fan of Sissoko and would keep him in. In the wide positions I'm not sure, it's extremely lightweight without Gouff.
alexf
Yeah I'd have Sissoko in ahead of Marveaux to start. But if we need some creativity then certainly Marv should be an option.
