But there comes a time when you notice a trend - we've had the same thing where people say the players choose to sit on a 1 or 2 goal lead and hang on for dear life when in reality the only constant is the manager. His record in derbies is by far and away the worst since I started supporting the club - he's lost 3 in less than 12 months, which is as many as we'd lost in the previous 20-odd years FFS. I know some people like to lay all the blame on the players, but let's consider Sunderland who were an utter shambles at the beginning of this season. They hire a new manager and suddenly they start looking like a team. Not world beaters, but they have some shape and organisation and know their game plan. Same players so we can't say he's bought his way out of trouble. You would think it's not hard to see the inverse correlation to our team but some still refuse to get it.
