Or they wash their white shorts with home top and end up with pink shorts.

Reckon scruffy jim will be charging the players for parking at training ground and subsidise their own kit next.

When I worked at the freeman hospital I paid £38 a month to park my car, the Man Utd players would probably go on strike if they had to pay similar.

Football Smile GIF by Manchester United

He's so funny man [emoji38]

Theres not much worse than having a chaotic goalie at the back.

The mad thing about that goal is he then started screaming at Dorgu, and tried to put the blame on him!

Have to say, I have liked the look of Dorgu. That looks a really good signing for the fee you paid, and he's still got a lot of room to grow.

When Ten Hag claimed the FA Cup saved our season, he was laughed at on here as it's just papering over the cracks.

When Amorim says winning a cup despite an overall poor performance doesn't mean the season is saved, he's laughed at on here.

You cannot win.

We just back our managers mate. I know that's quite difficult for you to understand. Hope Howe makes subs quick enough for your liking this weekend. :rose:

Liverpool are/were far worse than we will be if we go without the title for numerous years.

At least two seasons for Moyes though. A new manager needs to be given a while to build his own squad. It's just a little worrying what squad Moyes will try and build, since Fellaini was his first major signing. Giggs and Fellaini as a central midfield pairing just isn't acceptable at this level.

Didn’t age well

Liverpool even with Souness or Hodgson were never as bad as Man U have been this season I don’t think. Their painful years have never been that painful as they’ve always still been around Europe or won a cup.

Big difference is that this trophy gives you champions league football, which is pretty crucial in terms of PSR movement and also for attracting players to the club. Your standing and history as a club won't attract the top footballers anymore.

Ten Haag was right it did save your season, as it meant that you had two opportunities for champions league football at the start of the season; and if you hadn't won the cup, then your season would have been finished last Sunday. You still have a massive target to sin for despite your worst season in decades in terms of league form.

All of this is true obviously. It would be beyond huge if we managed to win the Europa League. I'm not even thinking about that right now to be honest. Sociedad were shocking last night and we still couldn't manage to win.

We know what Amorim means though in all fairness. He doesn't want these players giving themselves a pat on the back after struggling through a few knockout games to win a trophy when they've been dire all year.

The full quote is:

Quote

"People look at this competition as the only competition that can save our season. I don't see it like that. Nothing can save our season.

"In this club, you have to perform in every competition. I understand that it's really important that we want to win and go to the next stage. The season has been really tough in our position in the league. That's what I mean.

"I don't look at things to save something. I just want to be better as a coach and for my team to perform better."

tl;dr - there's nothing wrong with what he said.

11 year quote is impressive. Which part hasn't aged well though? Liverpool didn't win the league for 30 years. We've a long way to go before we're at that point, although it looks like it could be that and more at this point

You said their years weren't that painful as they've been around Europe or won a cup. We're in Europe now and have won a cup for the last two seasons running?

19 points from our last 11 games and we'll still beat their lowest total in the PL. Easy. :coat:

Like with "We are the worst Man United team in history" it's more just the melodramatic and despairing way he phrases it, if he'd literally said "winning a cup despite an overall poor performance doesn't mean the season is saved" it wouldn't be as funny as "Nothing can save us. Our season is ruined and my disappointment is immeasurable". Maybe it's a lost in translation thing, but given how he sits on the touchline looking like he hates life maybe not.

I guess it's the opposite of the chipper Steve Bruce style "Well, we just roll our sleeves up and go again, certainly can take some positives from that fourth abject and toothless defeat on the bounce, I'm confident I can turn it around"

The desperation on here for Amorim to fail is a bit weird tbh.

I agree there's absolutely nothing to suggest he'll turn it around, they're worse now if anything. is it funny? Yep. Do I hope it continues? Yep.

But pulling up his every quote is a bit bizarre.

It's not a desperation for Amorim specifically to fail, it's a desperation for us as a club to continue failing*

*by failing I mean performing poorly in the league but continuing to add silverware.

Schadenfreude isn't weird, it's natural and cool. Man United ruined my childhood and the arrogant, Terry Christian types in its fanbase (not a sly dig Froggy) are the absolute worst whenever they're doing well. So I'll openly admit that I want to squeeze every drop out of them being shit for as long as I possibly can, because it's part of what being a football fan is all about.

"Nothing can save our season"

vs

"We want to finish the season on a high.  Winning the EL and securing CL would be a great achievement. We want to finish with strong form in the league ready to give us the platform to once again challenge towards the top of the table once more."

It's really not hard.
