HawK Posted yesterday at 07:33 Share Posted yesterday at 07:33 Considering Wolves get the book fee up front for PSR calcs regardless of the payment terms, either they have cashflow issues or just really don't want to deal with Man Utd and make it awkward for Cunha to go. Doesn't add up.

Shameful from the BBC that the character assassination on Cunha has begun before he's even joined us. Any wonder some of these young lads crumble under the scrutiny. HawK Posted yesterday at 07:40 Share Posted yesterday at 07:40 It's a bit of a stat for dullards really. Messi walked more than and lost the ball more than any other player in his peak Barca years. It's indicative at that level of a high football IQ more than anything to me. Not to be conflated with the opposite end of the spectrum, lots of running is also good, but that doesn't mean walking is bad and vice versa. It's relative. You wouldn't want your main pressing players to be high up in that walking chart for example.

Funny enough, Cunha has some of the best defensive stats among forward players in the Premier League. The walking stat just shows he conserves his energy well. Doesn't add up. A couple of things. First off the release clause is probably lower than Wolves value the player so they add in clauses like high up front payments. Didn't we do similar with Bruno? Also clubs pretty much all run at a loss and losses need cash to find them, unless Wolves have owners willing to increase their investment this is either loans or cash from trading. It's the other strand to PSR - cash availability to support the losses. So for me nothing to see here and totally normal behaviour - goes for ManU as well, as funny as it is seeing them as penny pinching they also have to balance the cash need for running the club and what is likely to be a high transfer spend this year
