We were easily at our best against Burnley IMO. The Arsenal performance was very good if not spectacular. The Grimsby result and performance was diabolical mind, and I think that's what a lot of people are focusing on.

If we can avoid defeat against City and Chelsea I think we'll be in a decent position as the fixtures become more favourable, but that's easier said that done.

We're not giving up many chances in open play, but I think teams with any sense are going to continue to land crosses on top of the keeper and I can see it being an issue for a while yet.

Can see why you'd choose Burnley, I was just taking the strength of the opposition you've faced into account - in my mind you there's really no excuse for you not absolutely thrashing Burnley all ends up, whereas a 1-0 gutsy performance and loss to Arsenal is respectable.

I'm just not seeing it, but it's early days.

Must be just before the season started.

Reckon he’ll have piped down now like. The lad’s got a bloated perception of his own ability but he’s not going to get a lot of game time this season. The only scenario where he would is if somehow things are even more disastrous with Lemmens

I actually like Amorim and a coach and person, not a dick like many other coaches in the premiership. You can see he’s sticking by his principles and trying to play good football. Problem is he’s trying that in a toxic environment. Of course I hope Man Utd continue to struggle for our sakes but it’d be nice to see Amorim succeed too.

Do you still think it's toxic? It's a big reason why we love Amorim. He's identified the toxic players and with the full backing of the club he has kicked them out the door. He seems to have a brilliant relationship with the board as well.

I totally get that, but isn't the point that we should have thrashed Burnley? Chance after chance. I just don't think you can put that blame on Amorim as long as his system is allowing chances to be created. Last season we were labouring through games creating nothing and losing. If that starts happening again then the tone would change.

Like you said though, the sample size is small. In another 5-10 games time we'll see if he has what it takes.

Isn't Fernandes still there?

I was thinking more ahead of the Burnley game it should have been a thrashing rather than the outcome of how you played. Getting that pen felt pivotal for Amorim, I thought
