Whether you think he's class or not, one thing is for sure he's a good signing for them lot.

On a free n all, definitely.

If Elliott wasn't the managers mate I wouldn't have been surprised if we'd been in there.

Actually I forgot that he can play deeper so what with the uncertainty around Xavi it makes sense.

Does Sergi Roberto look like he can cut it?

Also when is Samper getting a bump to the first team? :D

Doesn't seem Sergi Roberto will make it - will see if Luís Enrique gives him more chances, he managed him at Barça B afterall.

If Samper follows the usual plan he'll play one more season at Barça B, but he'll probably start getting chances in early cup rounds, etc... I'm very excited about him tbf.

BREAKING: Sky sources indicate Joleon Lescott is close to agreeing terms with Hull City for a two-year deal #SSN

Fucking Hull, man. How can Hull afford him but we couldn't even imagine singing someone like that? We'll be reet, we'll sell MYM for less than we bought him for, buy someone else even less known and cheaper, and plod on with Steven Taylor and Curtis Good. Exciting times.

Anyhoo, back the the WC.

Lescott was excellent for us and initially had a good time of it at City too. His career went down the pan when Mancini dropped him (for Savic!) just after his partnership with Kompany had helped win the title.

Since dropping out of the first XI at City he's struggled for form whenever he's got back in. I think he'll do ok with regular football at Hull but I'm doubtful he'll get back to his best and he'll be on big wages.
