Mick
My points even more simple, if the opposition handle the ball in their own area its a penalty. The performance of either team doesn't come in to it. Not true, it depends if it was classed as accidental or not and also if it's seen.

Sifu
Just got back from London. What a long day that was and what a shite, boring and unexciting game that was. Both teams were just atrocious - Fulham were shite but we managed to be even shitter which is a mean feat in itself. On the balance of play, we deserved to lose that - apart from Cisse's two chances, we did fuck all. We definitely missed Remy today - we were very toothless in attack without him and that is a very worrying sign, what the fuck are we going to do next season without him? I fear the worst tbh. On the plus side though, Fulham is a nice area and I enjoyed the walk along Thames Path, especially on such a nice day weather-wise.
Teasy
Luck, decisions, whatever. We were playing the bottom of the table team (they're still bottom despite winning) and yet we created one chance through our own play and gumption in 90 minutes. They have the worst defence in the league naturally, and this was the best we could muster. Absolutely fucking gash man. We shouldn't need to be relying on decisions, luck, magic, science, or the rub of the green. Definitely, we should play to a higher standard, let the likes of Chelsea get decisions that win them games whether they deserve it or not, we should stick to a strong morale code. If we don't deserve the points then we don't want them, after all successful sides only ever win because they deserve it! Missing points seems to be a specialism of yours, good stuff m8. What point am I missing? That we were shit? That's a point I'd agree with, but not if its also claimed that decisions in the game shouldn't have been given because we didn't "deserve them". Since when do sides need to play well to deserve decisions from the refreree?

Since when do sides need to play well to deserve decisions from the refreree? I'm not saying anything about deserving decisions. I'm saying you try to win the game with a determined attacking outlook and have decisions go against you then you can have a bit of a moan if you don't get a result. Far too often we go into games trying to do nothing but shade the game, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Today was one of those games where it didn't. We shouldn't be relying on referees against the side bottom of the league. We've had other games where we've had the rub of the green and had little sympathy for the opposition. It's tedious and unnecessary and I'm not having any hard luck stories when it doesn't come off.
Wullie
Canny rich for any of our fans to claim that we didn't deserve to lose when winning matches that we haven't deserved to win is Alan Pardew's speciality. The bloke built an entire 5th place finish on it.

The performance of either team doesn't come in to it. Not true, it depends if it was classed as accidental or not and also if it's seen. Werther its seen or not has nothing to do with which way the decision should go, that's human error. The handballs possibly being accidental is a fair argument, but "we didn't play well enough to deserve a penalty" is complete bollocks. Which was the point I was disagreeing with. I think we were shit, I can't even be bothered to talk about how fucking sick I am at the shit rigid workman like side Pardew is obsessed with putting out, or how boring and predictable his tactic and substitutions are But no matter how apathetic I find myself when it comes to our current side I still can't stand it when people talk about deserving decisions, no such fucking thing. Interpolic
Exactly, Wullie. We're involved in far too many of these types of games. We should have had enough to beat them fairly convincingly, they're abysmal.
Interpolic
I must be going senile, I don't remember saying "We didn't play well enough to deserve a penalty".
Tachikoma
We were lucky not to have conceded earlier, if anything, when they somehow missed our goal by a fucking centimeter.
Interpolic
Maybe if I put it this way it'll finally hit home but I doubt it - referees are inconsistent, luck doesn't always go your way, etc. If you go out to smash the team that are bottom of the league and you're a decent side you'll usually be alright, if you choose to make the outcome of the game marginal and rely on external factors then you can have no complaints when you end up looking like fucking morons. Not saying anything about deserving decisions, I'm saying these games where it's almost 50-50 will hinge on moments like that, but there was no reason for it to be a 50-50 game. merlin
Predictable result against a very poor team - we look toothless without Remy's pace up front and willingness to run at defenders with the ball. Cisse showed just how lacking in pace he really is, because his efforts today compared very poorly with Remy. de Jong is more of a target/lay off type of forward(which we do need)but his effectiveness is lessened when he hasn't got Remy alongside him. We will struggle badly next season when Remy has gone...... We missed Debuchy's forays down the flank as well because MYM just hasn't got his attacking flair or ability to cross a ball on the run. Fulham were dire - worse even than Palace and that's saying something - the fact that we never looked like beating them says it all. We are a club without ambition and that stems from the top - there will be more results like this next season..IF we manage to get into the safety position that we are in now because the players have no incentive to aim any higher and that also is the view from the top. There will be a very bad season ahead if Ashley and Co try to make do without signing adequate replacements for Remy and Cabaye....not to mention Colo if indeed he leaves. Still.....GIZ A WAVE..!.....OH, WAIT.....
Interpolic
I asked him to give me a wave today and the ignorant cunt ignored me entirely. Hatred confirmed.

Interpolic
I agree, and it needs to be the right type of striker as well. Remy's not quite Henry like but he gives us so much more than goals. All week I thought today was a nailed-on win, the moment I heard he was out I thought it could be any result and so it proved. We're toothless without him. mrmojorisin75
we should all prepare for next season tbh, could be that carr and the transfer people come good as they've done for the last few years, but it's far from guaranteed
Interpolic
We'll sign less than we need, as usual. Couple of £5m signings and the usual muppets will be on here slagging anyone off that doesn't have an erection mind.
mrmojorisin75
well it's specifically the remy replacement that worries me due to the manager, if he doesn't have a striker putting in double-figures on scraps of service then he's got nothing
Teasy
I must be going senile, I don't remember saying "We didn't play well enough to deserve a penalty". Don't remember saying you did. Like I said, we were shit, but no matter how shit we were I think its still a fair comment to say we had some bad luck. IMO we should have had at least one penalty, wether people think we "deserved to win" or not. Just want to reiterate we were utter shit, not claiming otherwise

themanupstairs
Sounds like I made a good choice not watching this match. It was the first time in my 20 odd years supporting the club that I had made a conscious choice not to watch the game and spend a leisurely Saturday afternoon doing something else. House of Cards season 2 is amazing, and we are shit. Bring on Palace!
BrettNUFC
Bring on Palace! Actually looking forward to this. Feels like forever since i was at SJP. Game will probably be shite, like. Seen yesterday how they can just turn up with 10 men behind the ball and look for 0-0. Difference is, they'll probably nick a goal against us and take all
