Altamullan
Second time in 10 games Colback has gone off injured so it's not that rare. No one gives a s*** how Sunderland fans treated him. He sucks and plays scared, consistently walks with the ball and passes it sidewards. He's asked to be a box to box midfielder, that's why you see him taking s*** shots in the opposition box when he should be passing it to an open teammate, and that's why you see him making s*** tackles on people that routinely go pass him. You evidently don't give a shit; though not sure you or other mindless haters can speak for everybody. How do you know what he is asked to do? What expectations do you have of him based on your 'box to box' midfielder assumption? How many players in other teams do you 'imagine' are given the same brief you ar eso confident that he is? Are there other briefs/roles you which you have heard of which create a more accurate expectation? Can you think of other contemporary players who are asked to do such a role? How would they compare to your 'box to box' expectation and related disappointment?

Tsunami
What did Colback do wrong today? He should had done better with that shot, I've no problem with him not passing it and other than that he did fine in a first half we completely controlled and where he had to be disciplined as Tiote had been booked. He then got clattered and had to go off. Did anyone see Anita place a 10 yard pass straight into touch? Colback's fault.

Jaqen
I'd happily never see him, Tiote or Anita playing again for us. If you want to do well in this league you can't be starting two out of those three.

That said, I've no idea why he's getting stick today for doing what he'd no doubt been told to do by McClaren.

That's poor management imo.
Zero
Its simple: attacking players tends to have a better on-going resell value. BTW, I think it's football101 that when your side back gone up to attack, you have to have a midfielder to drop back and cover the space. Can't believe anyone here criticize him for this fucking basic duty, Jesus.

Disco
Bar his standard holding on to the ball for too long and slowing down attacks I didn't think he was that bad today.
Beren
Really disappointing shot when Sissoko cut it back for him.
M4
Really disappointing shot when Sissoko cut it back for him. Even Mitrovic couldn't really believe Mitro seemed to know he was offside and made sure not to be in the way but then the moron still shot straight into him. WarrenBartonCentrePartin
Left on crutches - http://bit.ly/1PM7PVs Newcastle United midfielder Jack Colback left the Stadium of Light on crutches to leave him doubtful for the Magpies’ next game with Stoke City. The Geordie player sustained the injury after a heavy challenge from former team-mate Lee Cattermole , who avoided a yellow card despite a series of fouls in the Wear-Tyne derby. Whoever it is, as long as they're from Newcastle, he has to mention it at every opportunity, like. Think every Carver-based article he's written refers to him as "the Geordie coach" somewhere in the opening two pars.

Guest zicomartin
Lee Ryder proves he can't count to five. He's worried Colback won't play at Stoke.
samptime29
Some right fucking embarrassments on this board like. Colback had a decent first half - the whole team played well. People celebrating because he's now injured. Just fucking bizarre. Great "support".

M4
We've gone past the "support the team no matter what" stage with this club in its current state. I find still having that attitude to be bizarre. Fuck Colback.
Skeletor
I'm one of the biggest Colback haters here but even I felt angry when Cattermole tried to cripple him. May just be that I hate Cattermole more but seriously it was a ridiculous unpunished assault.
samptime29
I'm not a Colback cheerleader. I say it, like I see it. Last week - I said he was poor, his passing was poor and didn't really contribute. Today he had a decent first half, the team was well in control of the game. The thing that pisses me off is the post saying "fantastic - he's injured". Fine you might not rate him, or like him. But happy that he's injured? Especially off that prick Cattermole! Get to f***.
