Foluwashola
Weirdly I don't 'hate' Colback, I just think he's shit. He's trying really hard, which is probably why. Is correct. As a player he's ghastly but the internet dweeb hatred, as with Dummett, is daft.

xLiaaamx
He's trying to hide, more like. Seen nothing to just suggest he's trying really hard when he plays. He picks the cowardly option anytime he's near the play.

ianovthetoon
Do you know how disappointing it is to see this thread rise to the top and the cunt hasn't been sold yet. My night is ruined!!!
The College Dropout
Dummett is competent at the fundamentals of his position. While Colback has some passing ability - he doesn't do the basics very well. Makes it look hard work.

Hanshithispantz
I really warmed to the lad after this tbh: https://www.nufc.co.uk/nufc-tv/latest-videos/hayden-to-win-the-league-is-what-i-came-here-to-do Colback at around 43 seconds  It's the most radgie thing I can think of. Foluwashola
Colback tries really hard  His work rate can't really be questioned Like, it's probably the only reason successive managers, including Rafa, have selected him.
Guest
Rafa selected him due to no alternatives in the squad. Probably saw him as a decent squad player in the Championship but I doubt he's rated by him.

Probably saw him as a decent squad player in the Championship but I doubt he's rated by him. He was regularly chosen before other central midfield options, largely as a result of his GRAFT. Hope he's shipped this summer (very unlikely) but to claim he doesn't try is a stretch.

Think it's more that he's decent at playing the easy, safe short pass. When we're ahead (and if we're dominating possession) he can do that for a while. Guest firetotheworks
The effort he puts into bringing down players in dangerous positions and hiding behind players so he doesn't have to take any responsibility isn't in doubt like. He went to the Alan Smith School of Perceived Effort for Glebes.

He was regularly rotated with Hayden first half of the season iirc. Hayden was clear first choice by the end though.

Different roles, but if Rafa despised him that intensely he had options.
Hanshithispantz
"if you exclude for Hayden when he was injured" I'm not including Hayden when he was injured as Colback started ahead of him when he was fit too. I can't be arsed to play some pointless game of semantics like, I was just answering (or correcting) your question

Diame played more in the 10 role for most of the season, i think we had limited options in CM all season long, especially when Hayden got injured. You're right though, i think Rafa quite likes him, which baffles the feck out of me. Yeah he works hard, but even then he makes that look as thick as fuck when he does it. He is utterly awful, just an utter waste of a shirt imo.

Everyone is being fucking fanny tarts I know he started ahead of Hayden, that where Rafa studies how many minutes players play, their fitness levels and fatigue levels as they approach games. It's brilliant stuff when you have a great squad, annoying when you have Colback as one of that squad.
