nufc4eva
Good luck to him, he has had a horrendous time here. I thought he might be decent as calm every time he played but more suited to that league.

bigfella
Thank fuck we're finally getting rid of this waster. Not his fault (presumably) that he was constantly injured, but it baffles me what anyone saw in him in his fleeting cameos. All I'll remember will be him missing one of the worst sitters I've ever seen against Villa and if you can single out a moment as being the biggest contribution to our relegation, that's the one. Guest dabe
Thank f*** we're finally getting rid of this waster. Think there's more worthy blame to be spread across our shithouse club than that miss. I remember seeing De Jong a couple of years before he signed in the CL and he bossed a game against Barca or someone of that ilk, shame he was too perma-crocked to reach that level for us. He's clearly an intelligent space user in the classic Dutch mould but never had time to settle in a dysfunctional team of garbage. He's also a waif in real life, tiny, no wonder he's injury prone. Anon
Hopefully this is the last de Jong we buy, not got a great track record with them.
Altamullan
Hopefully this is the last de Jong we buy, not got a great track record with them. We've seen that two de Jongs don't make a right, but you can't go wrong with a third de Jong. Nigel's getting on a bit, so Marcel next! https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marcel_de_Jong

54
Speaking ahead of this weekend’s trip to Bristol City, Benitez said: “I had a conversation with Siem. We both agreed that he has to play. “He has to play regularly after these years with some little problems. “I think it was the time to give him a chance to play every week. It’s an opportunity. “Everything is more or less done - hopefully, he can go to PSV, play and enjoy his football, and afterwards we can bring him back and he can play at the level we know he has. “The main thing is that he has to play. “He can go there and play and reach the level we know he can play at.” Since arriving on Tyneside, there have been persistent question marks over whether De Jong has the physical capabilities to survive in English football. Benitez himself accepts that De Jong is probably better suited to the Premier League or Eredivisie than the Championship - but believes the Dutchman could have been effective in home games in the Championship. “If you play at home, he can do well [in the Championship],” Benitez added. “Because of the physicality and intensity of the Championship, and because he has not played so much, it will be easier for him to play in the Premier League or maybe Holland.”
