Rolando Aarons

His is a weird case, really. He first started making an impact nearly three and a half years ago... back then you would have thought, by 2018, we'd know what his chances were of making it.

Maybe he's gonna be another Vuckic; promising youngster, fucked by injuries, forever knocking around the reserves and first team fringes for the duration of his contract.

Him missing last season was a killer, one might suspect. Could easily have racked up 30-odd appearances if he'd been fit.

Having a whinge about playing in the development team apparently. Can only assume he's not showing anywhere near enough in training to warrant a starting place.

Really? I'm sure i read he asked to play but said he wanted to be in the first team? nothing wrong with that imo

Contrast that with Shelvey who had to convince Rafa to let him work his way back into the first team by playing in the reserves. That's the attitude Aarons needs.

Nothing wrong with his attitude based on that.

Has there ever been? It is a mystery what's been happening with the lad.

He's had quite a habit of being bitter about criticism people online give him for being a crock.

Hmm, OK. Don’t really blame any player for that TBH, it’s an idiotic criticism.

The problem with Mitro and Aarons is their best game is their natural one.. Serbia play to Mitro's strengths and we saw the best of Aarons when he was free to improvise.

Rafa likes to control his players and so players who can follow a game plan and stick to it are more likely to play.

If we get taken over we will be more like Liverpool of old.. than an attacking machine that everyone expects.

Liverpool fans complained at some of the football they saw back then but to Benitez its about results.

Absolutely neither player is a great fit here, I'm sure when they are sold they'll go on to be pretty successful if they find situations where they can express themselves. Best for all parties that they are sold, unless Rafa is not sticking around.

Would like to see him involved today, even if coming off the bench. Thought he has looked good in the fleeting glimpses we have had of him. Compared to putting ayoze out on the wing.

If Rafa risks putting on the twin and he plays badly he might shatter his confidence...

Didn't see the match yesterday so apart from the one post above how did he look?

Wasn't involved that much. All I can recall is he looked up for it/not intimidated and he made a great challenge early on; only remember latter because someone was down/looked ready to be carried off on the other side of the pitch and I thought it was him; in an 'Oh well, he's made a contribution at least' kind of way. Turned out to be a Hayden melodrama.
