KaKa
He definitely should have hit it a tad earlier and gone for a powerful strike across the keeper. It was beautifully positioned on his stronger foot. He hesitated and second guessed before then going for that chip which allowed Otamendi to get back. It was frustrating. joeyt
Not sure how Otamendi didn't get a freekick for that clearance off the line
TRon
While it was a delightfully executed chip imo it was the wrong decision. I can understand people saying he did the correct thing from that photo but that was after he delayed the shot and allowed the keeper to take that position. I was directly in line with him and the keeper and I'm convinced that an early driven shot made it a relatively easy goal. Easy from that angle? You must be joking. It was a clever effort and probably the only thing he could have done better was put a bit more pace on it. Easier said than done. He was a bit patchy last night, threatened to look very dangerous and careless at the same time. Atsu looked better when he came on.

Attempting to chip a keeper that would have gone in if not for someone saving it off the line, what the fuck do you expect him to do? If he hit it any other way he had to get it over Ederson or around him with a near perfect finish. Watch the replay again man, City players were surrounding all easy options for him, christ ffs. "Frustrating"
KaKa
You are wrong! Clearly haven't played much "soccer" my American friend. No surprise you advocate that pathetic NFL punt by Aarons. It was disgusting.

KaKa
Oh, and just for added clarity ... Let's not even forget that a strike across goal increases the chances of a deflection for an own goal with all of those defenders retreating that way, or even the ball falling to one of his team mates off of a deflection. Aarons was trying to be too cute man. Thought he was playing Fifa or something. It was ridiculous.
timeEd32
Look at Otamendi in that picture. He's already running back to the line. Many defenders, especially ours, would be standing still protecting against a potential cross.
tinoasprilla
it was great defending. He looked ok in a defensive performance. He should be ahead of Murphy in pecking order who just doesnt look like a footballer
mrmojorisin75
Wait kid beats the keeper, gets it on target and he's getting slated? We need this takeover asap.
jimmymag
Looked very lightweight yesterday. Just before he got taken off, he got bullied a couple of times by Walker and it looked like a man against a boy. Sadly, don't see him developing as hoped. HaydnNUFC
Someone's pulled up an old homophobic tweet of his and now it's getting numbers. Great. https://twitter.com/RolandoAarons/status/170255284726534145
Disco
Amazes me the person in charge of social at a club doesn't immediately go back through all players publically available content and censor. Also, he's a daft, and that's inappropriate, but who wasn't an arsehole spouting bollocks at that age.

triggs
Don't think it's right to go back to when kids are 15/16 to get stuff like this. Andre Gray's is different as he was 20/21 at the time
HaydnNUFC
He was 16 when that was tweeted. No idea who the hell goes back and looks at 6 year old tweets from Newcastle United squad players. Doesn't ebb how stupid the tweet is, mind.
xLiaaamx
Seemed pretty religious from his tweets a couple years ago? No doubt at that age being raised Catholic might put such a notion in your head.

Aaron’s should perhaps be spoken to and challenged on his views if still present but really doesn’t merit much more than that. Very unfair for much more of a punishment for something tweeted 5 years ago.
