HawK
Literally just back from the match. What a s*** stadium, s*** manager, s*** performance. I knew all this was going to happen before I even went so why I bothered I have no idea. Only Cabella and Steven Taylor looked arsed and wanted the ball, Janmaat played a professional game and christ Rob Elliot must be 16 stone, he was fatter than the ref. BillClinton
Newcastle manager Alan Pardew: "Absolutely delighted with that - we didn't play in the first half and Burnley had a lot to do with that. We didn't risk enough. We took risks in the second half and were a different class. "It's as good a point we've got all season. The pitch was difficult tonight - it was was slippery and slidy." "Delighted" That Burnley side might be the worst that I've ever seen in the Premier League. We have some injuries but the squad wasn't that different from the lineup we had during our win streak. Guest Gino14
The side we had out was capable of beating that Burnley side with the right tactics. That Burnley side is only premier league in the sense they got into it, but it's still the same side that was in the Championship last year. If we had all the injuries we were worried about then maybe it'd be fine, but we had plenty of experience out there to get a win.
ponsaelius
I was actually laughing out loud at some of the stuff that was happening during the 2nd half of this game. It was honestly like watching the local 5 a side, all over the place. Taylor marching out of defence trying to get us going FFS. At least the second half was funny mind, the first half was practically unwatchable.
Miercoles
I'll take a comeback draw away from home most days. Our injuries make it almost acceptable at Burnley. It was wonderful to see Cabella playing #10 for a brief moment there. Hope he takes that position on and we get sissoko and one of our other three-s***-midfielders behind him. I've given sammy a lot of s*** lately but he was great in this game, he and Haidara seem to have a good understanding. Janmaat is the shit. Cisse and Ayoze I'd rather not talk about. Ronaldo
Sammy was great but our goalscorer and HT sacrificial lamb you'd rather not talk about? I despair.

Sammys_Tekkers
Didn't get to watch the match, glad to see Abeid went straight back into the starting XI, hopefully he starts against Chelsea, but reckon Pardew will go for Sissoko, Colback and Tiote. Can't believe he didn't start Cabella today. Laughable.
Pilko
Gonna predict that it'll be Abeid and Ayoze who make way for Sissoko and Colback at the weekend. Gouffran posted another 'Lovenkrands display' where he ran around a bit and provided the sum total of absolute bugger all to the efforts of attacking and defending. Cabella really is the new Ben Arfa anarl, was just starting to show some promise after he was dropped the first time (rightly so too) and then he's dropped again
Lush Vlad
Did Cisse score with his thigh/knee? I thought it was a really tidy volley on first viewing. But I keep watching it back and it looks like it just hits him high up on the leg somewhere.
Shush
Only just seen the goals. Elliot's fat man flop down for the first was shocking. Didn't even stick an arm out.
AlanSkÃrare
Elliot was a fucking idiot for the goal. They could have got three or four in the first half. The hoofing throughout the game, not only first half, was the usual garbage we've become accustomed to. Tioté was on his worst game, dangerous dribbles inside our own half, out of position trying to hack people down. Gouffran starting and staying on for 90 minutes was like playing with 10 men. All he does is transport the ball and pass it sideways. He had one moment of tracking back towards the end that'll ensure he keeps his place. Subbing Ayoze at HT rather than Gouffran was criminal. Cabella by far our best player when he was set free, our only constructive creative link. Big ups to Haïdara, Abeid and Janmaat who all had good games. Pilko
Tioté was on his worst game, dangerous dribbles inside our own half, out of position trying to hack people down. No, that's his standard game if we're honest. He does all that anyway, every single match.

Just saying with all that in mind, trying to get some joy out of watching my favorite (shit) team, once you go down away from home you'll be happy with anything but a loss. I never thought we'd come back tbh, so I was able to celebrate a bit when Cisse* bullshitted that goal in. *Atrocious performance from Cisse, not salvaged by the goal. Did it far more last night as clearly Williamson could barely stand up(god knows why 20% fit clogger A started above fully fit clogger B) so Tiote was coming stupidly deep every time. The idea that we need someone to take over from quarterback duties for Willo This club man

Guest Roger Kint
Was Abeid not coming short to get the ball? Thought he did that well before his injury. Mainly Tiote who then played suicide balls to anyone near him or tried to take on their forwards every time.

toptoon
Newcastle manager Alan Pardew: "Absolutely delighted with that - we didn't play in the first half and Burnley had a lot to do with that. "Delighted" That Burnley side might be the worst that I've ever seen in the Premier League. We have some injuries but the squad wasn't that different from the lineup we had during our win streak. The squad wasn't. The team was though. I'm not normally one of these ridiculous over the top Pardew critics but it is no coincidence in my opinion that our winning streak has come to a grinding halt in the last two games since he has decided to play Gouffran instead of Cabella which is a complete dogshite decision. It has made a huge negative difference ! We don't offer enough offensively with Gouffran on the wing which then gives teams less to worry about and can push forward more. Was impressed with Sammy, Steven Taylor, Dummett and Cabella when he belatedly came on last night. Janmmatt, Haidara and Perez did ok just didn't quite go for them but they put in a good shift. Was unimpressed with: Elliott, Gouffran, Cisse and Riverie was terrible again What the hell is Gouffran doing on the wing again ? ...and Riverie who was dog s**** yet again back as well. Gouffran isn't a terrible player but our winning streak was simply resolute defending and pressing the opposition as a team when we haven't got the ball and attack with pace and sharp passing when we have got the ball. Sissoko powering through the middle, two fast wingers sammy, aarons or cabella and Perez up top. Gouffran has no place in that team at the moment. The only place i'd be tempted to try Gouffran is up top if Perez was injured and that would be a gamble. We only concede 1 goal in 6 and win all 6 in our winning run. But Pardew is now unbelievably trying to get Gouffran and Rivierie etc back in. I'd have much preferred Pardew blood young quick promising Callum Roberts than those two. Cabella made a huge difference when he came on. Cabella clearly should have started and we could have blooded young Roberts when Ameobi went off instead of Riveirie who was shocking yet again. Our team for Chelsea should be: Elliott? Taylor Dummett Janmaat Haidara Abeid Sissoko Colback Cabella Sammy/Aarons? Perez I am expecting Cisse, Gouffran and even possibly Riverie to feature though in which case we have no chance. Last night if we had started with Cabella over Gouffran and chucked young Roberts on for Sammy when he came off we would have won that game.
Wullie
Imagine being surprised that Gouffran has come back in. I've been more surprised by it getting dark in the evening. Frankly anyone who wasn't fully aware that would happen shouldn't be allowed outside for their own safety.
STM
Haidara, Sammy, Williamson and Tiote were awful in the first half. Cabella made the difference in the second. Abieds already better than Tiote. Cant be arsed to whinge about the rest.
Pilko
Abeid is definitely better than Tiote, agreed. He shouldn't take set pieces though, his crosses yesterday were so flat they wouldn't have troubled Paul Daniels at centre-back.
