is your friend Craig Buglass?

Nope, he's still working for one of the big sportswear brands but he doesn't do football shirts these days.

It's very close to being right, but I'm looking at a photo of the actual kit on one of our players from the photoshoot right now, and the black stripe in the middle is definitely about an inch thinner, and is definitely centralised on my photo, pulling in all the stripes towards the middle more.

The NUFC badge and the Addidas badge sit centralised in the middle of the biggest white stripes. At least on the size shirt that this specific player is wearing.

If only the means existed for you to upload that photo

This is a design crime.

Best thing about it imo - not that I like it overall.

The whole idea is that it's an abstract design. Having everything aligned and perfectly matching up would be weird.

Any idea how much it differs from the fan version?

The fan version is the one I've seen, basically it doesn't have those circles/woven check thing in it and is just flat. Very similar to the difference between the fan version and player version for this year.

I really like this seasons home shirt but the thick, black, rancid collar on the fan version is very off-putting.

Hopefully adidas go back to making both fan and player version the same design, just different fit and/or materials. Doubt it though.

I want the fan version to go back to having felt sponsors. I know you can’t have it on players version these days because it adds weight and isn’t ideal, but the fans should be getting a harder wearing shirt. At £80-£85 a shirt, they can fuck off with the excuse about it not being profitable to do so.

Yeah, I’m not going to do that.

I don’t, sorry. Haven’t seen the fan version.

Stripes done creatively can be done much better than what adidas have produced for us with this. AC Milan 23/24 was very good in my opinion.

I didn't know Adidas hated us.

I always presume working for adidas on our kits must be like being a producer for MTV where you're able to come up with the daftest or most low-rent show concept possible knowing that there will be plenty of people who would do anything to become "celebrities" who will happily apply to be on it and go along with whatever you want them to do.

In this case, short of giving us something in red and white stripes, adidas knows full well they'll sell an absolute ton of them. That said, you'd think the club would (maybe they have) instruct adidas to do something a bit more "universal" as it were given our deal is split between the upfront money and revenue share. I guess if this doesn't sell so many at least the club will see the numbers affecting the books and tell them never again.
