He said NUFC would set the brief, Adidas would come back with designs, NUFC would get Adidas to refine and then sign off. So a fairly typical process. His view was that there was no way Adidas would have done that design without NUFC requesting a move away from traditional black & white stripes. And also the Chief Creative Officer at NUFC is Kenny McIver, a Geordie who used to work for Nike. He’s not just some corporate hipster apparel designer drone with no allegiance to the club. We love the 90s tops and that but have there been any tops in recent years that fans will want re-released in the 2050s? This could be one of them because it's so different.
