ToonCanuck
earlier this week fifa and infantino, asked the city of vancouver and city police if he could have an armed escort to drive him around town, they said no. then today, his representatives were telling the police, thats he is so important, we should give him his armed escort, of course we get to pay for it as well. they said no, he wasn't important enough. Stifler
Arthur Blank, Atlanta United owner has committed to keeping the low priced kiosk at Atlanta’s stadium for the World Cup. It’s possible to get a full meal plus a refillable Coca Cola (because it’s Atlanta) drink in a souvenir cup for $12. Atlanta local authorities are also keeping the local train fares at $2.50 each way, and affordable parking.

I am actually pleasantly surprised with the KO times, considering where it's at, especially the latter knockout stage matches. 8pm for the final and 2 midweek semi finals is pretty much ideal. QFs at 8pm and 9pm, plus one at 10pm but a Saturday, so should be fine for most. One is 2am which isn't ideal, but again, early hours of Sunday morning so could, at a push, treat it like a big US boxing match and try and watch live, or could record and watch first thing in the morning if a big match / England. You've got L16 matches at 5pm, 6pm, 8pm, 9pm, 9pm, 10pm (Saturday), a couple of unfortunate midweek 1am ers, but when you're so used to most American sports / sports entertainment being on in the early hours, it does feel like it's kind of been scheduled for the European market as best they can. That all said, I'm not really feeling it either at the moment with the expanded teams and numerous third placed sides advancing. I presume I will be tuning in to as many group games as I can, but it does almost feel like you could skip the first 2+weeks and not miss too much. Superior Acuña
Feels ages away to me, so wouldn’t expect to be up for it at all yet. Still feel in the thick of a league season.

Chicken Dancer
I'm looking forward to it now, think mainly just because of how dull the PL has been this year and how poor it's been from an NUFC perspective. Don't expect England to do much - their route to the final looks quite tricky from memory (could be wrong). Mind as a kid the World Cup was fucking class like. Sticker books, Playstation games, music, adverts on the tele. Chumbawamba still take me back to the summer of 98' (was the soundtrack of Fifa France 98). Great and simpler times for sure. Virtua Stiva
I think it’ll end up being a decent tournament in spite of itself even if I think England will generally fall fairly early. Wouldn’t surprise me if a lot of the groups end up being fairly exciting due to the lesser sides targeting 3rd and wanting a win
aussiemag
Do we think that the extortionate prices and commercialisation will be unique to the USA world cup or is this how its going to be moving forwards? The atmosphere at the games will suffer big time.

JamesQw3rt
Looking at these groups again, there were some really interesting matchups. Group E especially stands out — Spain, Germany, and Japan in one group was wild, and it definitely didn’t go the way most people expected. Also Group H had a nice mix with Portugal, Uruguay, and South Korea — pretty competitive overall. Honestly, tournaments like that are what make sports so fun to follow. Been tracking Formula 1 lines on VivatBet lately too, and it’s the same kind of thing — sometimes the “obvious” favorites are exactly the ones that surprise you.
