Alfredo Hawit, the head of the North and Central American and Caribbean governing body.

Hawit only succeeded Jeffrey Webb in May, after Webb was arrested as part of the US operation that threw Fifa spiralling into crisis and precipitated the downfall of Sepp Blatter. Webb’s predecessor, the controversial Jack Warner, was also seized in May.

Why would you take that job? Just seems to end up in handcuffs

The FBI is investigating the role played by Fifa president Sepp Blatter in a $100m (£66.2m) bribes scandal, a BBC investigation has discovered.

Sports marketing company ISL paid a total of $100m to officials including former Fifa president Joao Havelange and ex-Fifa executive Ricardo Teixeira.

In return, ISL was granted lucrative television and marketing rights throughout the 1990s.

Blatter denied knowing about the bribes and took no action.

Isn't this only for 1 incident as well? Just wait until the FBI have finished their investigation and the others have finished throwing them under the bus.

The trouble is that there is plenty more shady characters in FIFA ready to replace them.

Surely this also means Platini should be banned from UEFA as well?

Yes, he's banned from all football activity.

And to think that Roland Rat(who runs the FA)told a Committee of MPs that the FA were going to back Platini as Blatter's replacement.

Then again - that would be just Dyke's style...what a useless bunch of brown-nosing creeps as well as being corrupt.

Got to call Andrew Jennings about it this afternoon to have a chat. Be disappointed if he isn't too busy doing cartwheels tbh.

Thank him on behalf of football fans

Just spoken to him. I did actually thank him, which he seemed to appreciate.

He reckons the Swiss police have another 2TB of data to go through, which is when it'll be "curtains" for Blatter.

Didn't realise til he told me that he's actually had a stroke since he made his last Panorama :(

I think it's fair to say we've seen the last of this geriatric wannabe mobster now. 8 years should see him off as it is, hopefully when it's all finished he'll spend the rest of his natural behind bars.

In 8 years he'll be 87, bet if he's still kicking he'll run again
