Been said that it's 5 years to the day since he and the wife lost a bairn.

Could be the reason.

I imagine the reason is QPR want 15M for him and someone will buy him for close to that so now he won't play again. Same thing I think is happening with Colo.

I hope either we sign him next week or someone who is not Sunderland sign him next week. Either way I want this one put to bed because it's boring now. How many articles can be written about "Newcastle are interested. Won't pay 15M"?

Still think it's absolutely criminal if we're thinking of spending a decent amount of money on him, while we go into yet another season with either Williamson or Taylor a guaranteed starter.

Should do the old QPR classic and just take him on loan for a year.

And then go buy a defender as well.

1m loan fee, and we'll give you Riviere free with his wages paid by us for the rest of the season.

Have Mike, Yoan & Gabby thrown in as well if you like. Guaranteed promotion :yao:

Agreed. I wanted Austin ahead of Mitrovic, but now we've got the latter it doesn't make sense to get Austin in, unless we somehow manage to flog Papiss for good money. I think the same can be said for getting Wijnaldum in if we don't manage to sell Sissoko on. We seem to have spent decent money for once (although so far it has "only" been last year's reported profits - this year's profits are still in the bank effectively and that's before we even mention Mike Ashley putting some of his own vast fortune in, God forbid), but our weakest area by some distance hasn't really improved, and you could argue we have gone backwards a little so far, with only Mbemba coming in, with Yanga-Mbiwa, Santon and Raylor off the books. Now, Mbemba might hit the ground running, but he also might take a season or so to adapt. If we don't strengthen the defense before the window closes I can't really see us break into the top 10 this season.

The thing which might make this happen a bit earlier is that QPR are fucked, and they need to sell before they buy. Bit risky for them leaving to the last week in the window if they're serious about coming straight back up again, given the amount of crap in the squad they need to sort out.

Thoroughly expect him to end up at West Ham.

One of the porn barons was on SSN the other day saying they will be looking for another striker now Valencia is crocked.

He probably will, I can't stand West ham or the golds but fair play for showing some sustainable ambition which is all we are asking for ffs

Word on the street is that West Ham are going in for Chicharito, so that'll probably end their interest in Austin. Would prefer Austin to West Ham and Chicharito to us to be honest

In an ideal world i wouldn't want any of them tbh. But if i had to choose now i would also prefer Chicarito.
