Now I’m over the pain of it

Actually quite respect what Tuchel has done here

He knows the team better than others and maybe he’s got something cooking with the guys he’s put in

well hopefully anyway

Or maybe he's jorman and doesnt want ingerrland to do well?

Tongue in cheek obviously, but some of his choices are questionable at best

In the world where Tuchel doesn’t want to play a system that accommodates Trent’s pluses and minuses. The revisionist attempt to suggest Trent is actually not as bad a defender as we think is not convincing to me. His defensive positioning is poor, he struggles one-on-one and his positional discipline within Tuchel’s system is questionable. Do you think that is not the case?

I can understand that but we are not comparing like for like here, is Spence even in the top 10 of England full backs ?

You’re dancing round the point. He’s not picking based on some Top 10 ranking - which you yourself highlight in the first part of your sentence by pointing out it’s not like for like. They are very different full backs, and Tuchel is clearly looking at what a player can do for him and how they fit in to his system. He values versatility on the pitch but within his system.

The better question is what somebody else asked - why pick both Livramento and Spence? They do seem to perform similar roles, although from what you guys say Livramento has struggled this year at times (and obviously the injury). I wonder if in a squad of 26 you have room to pick players who do different things at a position and players who can be a direct replacement.

Tremendous one on one defender. The best of the England full backs IMO. He's tall for a full back too.

Heard Tuchel talking about set pieces a fair bit in his press conference. Think he's going for the Arteta approach this summer with England, which I'm sure you'll all love ;D

Spoilt rotten with the expansive football under Gareth.

Im sure they'll all have a great sing song on the plane back home after they are knocked out in the group stage

To be fair most scousers will be over the moon there isnt any players in the England squad. Most of them don't give a toss

Haha 50/1 might have a pundits on, I think I'm just massively underwhelmed by the squad, I mean John Stones has played 9 minutes since December, Toney is picked cos he can take a pen, Jordon Fuckin Henderson doesn't start for Brentford, hope I'm wrong but it all just seems a bit MEH

He's got a blunder in him though.

Please no, I don’t think I’ll survive the Ronaldo cringe fest.

Aye, it's Portugal or Spain for me. Portugal has the best midfield in the world by a considerable distance, if they can manage the cult of Ronaldo they've got a massive chance.

Hopefully Roberto Martinez lets Ronaldo run the team as I'm not sure I could handle such a massive bullshitter (Martinez) winning such a prize.
