The English mentality is so strange, we love slating our sportspeople for some reason. Don't get me wrong, Sterling's been frustratingly poor, but you're right...that's not gonna help him in the slightest. The rugby coach Eddie Jones alluded to it some weeks back after George Ford missed a few kicks at goal, was visibly dumbfounded as to why the press went to town on him, especially after a good win against Wales. Germany, Spain, and France are a cut above everyone else in terms of winning the competition, imo. I would also caution against conclusions after two matches, especially with a format such as this that gives incentive for conservative play. edit: I do rate this England farily highly, though.
