Seems like Sessengnon has a good shout of being the LB. Barely anyone else is fit.

He’s looked poor when I watched him against us and Marseille. Is he in with a shout?

Not how it's going to go - but how i'd play the England team:

                 Pope

Trips  Stones Tomori  Shaw

          Rice Bellingham

Saka      Maddison        Foden

                 Kane

If Saka is hurt, play Maddison RM and have Mount play the #10.

Maddison has to be a sure fire starter for England. He’s arguably one of the best attacking mids in the PL.

Making Southgates job alot easier the way he's playing right now, has to take him certainly.

Ben Shite even though he’s been playing RB?

If you’re back 3ing it he’s the best RCB. Then Stones and one other.

England aren’t getting anywhere close anyway IMO.

Eddie needs to have a word with Southgate and implement our system with England.

Tripps White Tomori Burn the back four for y’all.

Paddypower have odds on who will start England's first game and they reckon it will be a back 5, with two holding midfielders Kane up front on his own and two supporting players.

So what are peoples preferred starting line-up for the first game? I'd go:

                       Pickford

Trippier    White     Stones     Shaw

              Bellingham  Rice

Saka              Maddison            Foden

                         Kane

I expect Southgate to go with:

                          Pickford

Trippier     Maguire     Stones     Shaw

                  Bellingham   Rice

Saka                  Mount             Sterling

                           Kane

White and Stones at centre half in a back four is ridiculously frail like. Suicide tbh. Especially considering White has been at right back most of the season.

We're stuck in a catch 22. Play with a back 5 because none of our centre halves are good enough in a four, but then we play 3 poor centre halves.

I think we're in trouble either way. We're at the end of Southgates cycle, he has ran out of ideas and we've looked really poor recently. We've been fucked by injuries and our defence is rotten. Even our front 3, which is nailed on to be Sterling, Kane and Foden isnt great. I'm not convinced Kane is at the level he was a few years ago. Sterling is woefully out of form and very clearly on a downward trajectory and even Foden has been on the bench at City for their last 3 league games. Bellingham and Rice are both quality but even then, one is playing in the Bundesliga and the other at a struggling West Ham side.

                    Bellingham   Rice

                           Kane
