Mick
Wijnaldum is more than capable of playing well and he would give us a massive boost if he could get back to his best.
Guest chopey
Just back from the match and I thought he was terrible today, he looked so lazy and uninterested, we can't have players in our team that sit and sulk when they are asked to play out of position
durhamunigeordie
Agree, would drop him for Tuesday. No room for passengers at this stage.
Guest Howaythetoon
As spectacular a drop in form and promise as Cisse. Yet Wijnaldum is actually a very good footballer. He lacks heart and drive which is unforgivable or would be if he wasn't playing for this utter mess of a club. I'm torn.
Guest firetotheworks
Absolutely sick of him being on the team sheet now like, needs to be dropped.
jimmymag
Wijnaldum is more than capable of playing well and he would give us a massive boost if he could get back to his best. It's not his quality that's in question, it's his piss poor attitude, and only he can change that.
Foluwashola
He's played well in at most a handful of games this season. Starting to get to the stage where it feels like the shit performances are the real Wini. Shame.
Hughesy
I thought he was fine in the first half - and the main reason he was decent was because he got the ball. Barely touched it in the second half, but not entirely sure that's his fault.
Hanshithispantz
He's obviously a good player like, his touch and ball control is top notch and he obviously has an eye for goal but he needs us to be playing with fluidity which we cannot do. Pretty much any player who lacks physicality or restraint is going to look god awful.
Guest Howaythetoon
Put him in KK's side or Sir Bobby and he's another Lee or Robert in terms of goals and generally being a key player. That doesn't excuse his lack of drive and heart. Him and many others know it will be easier for them to move on in the summer if we are not a Premier League club. Me... I would personally put 100% in whatever the situation, but looking at NUFC and how the club is ran I cannot blame the likes of him for not really giving a fuck. Minhosa
I've been to games all over the country, from Newcastle to Southampton, and I still haven't seen this man. I've been looking but never found him.
Altamullan
I thought he played well against Man City, as did most (except Guoffran) in the first half. Mbabu had Sterling in his pocket, and we went to pieces when he went off injured. Aguero, Silva, and De Buyne were exceptional that day, but Gini looked up for it, as if he wanted to prove himself against the best. I expect him to do the same again, and hope he gets the chance. With a few rested players, and a little good luck instead of bad (disallowed goal, key injury) there may just be a good time a coming...

Well he scored four goals against Norwich earlier in the season and was shit against them a few weeks ago so I don't hold out much hope on that front

TRon
I thought he was pretty good first half, did a decent job on the left in an unfamiliar role, got in some good delivery when given the chance, and still tracked back pretty well to stop Swansea from getting at Dummett one on one. In the second he disappeared and I would put that down to our change in tactics where we dropped back to protect the goal lead and that's not his game. Pretty much any player who lacks physicality or restraint is going to look god awful. This. I don't think his ability is in question. His close control, the way he turns to shake off his man, his finishing and the runs he makes, are all quality. But he is obviously a gutless bastard. I can't remember the last good game he had?! He has had games where he has looked almost world class. So I don't think it's a case of him just playing well above his ability, on a few occasions. It just seems like he hasn't got the heart for the fight and goes missing all too often. Massive shame, as we could do with some of his quality, right now. But the way he is strolling about the pitch. We could really do with playing someone in his place. You know, someone that is actually interested in fighting for the team. So he only gets pumped up and plays well, against big name clubs?

Yep - he played well in the first half, which coincided with us getting the ball to him a bit more. Faded in the second half and it was the right decision to bring him off in the second half. I think people underestimate how hard it is to influence a game as a winger if the ball isn't supplied to you regularly enough. You can't go chasing the ball and ruining the shape of the team. Dave
Could really do with him having any sort of meaningful influence on the last few matches like.
Sho Time
Could really do with him having any sort of meaningful influence on the last few matches like. Wouldn't hold your breath on that, mind. We've practically been playing his corpse this year.
