geordiedean
There was a time when we used to praise Nile Ranger for having a decent impact when coming on as a sub, doing similar things to what Mitrovic does holding the ball up and bringing others into play. I see their potential in a similar way except that Mitrovic has more power and is possibly a better finisher. People writing him off completely must be having a laugh. He has immense potential and hopefully we will see it under the current manager. Next season. In the top flight. Immense potential my Arse. He's 21 as slow as treacle and has the turning circle of an oil tanker. He's not going to get any quicker. He also does not have the brain of a footballer and certainly not a striker if he did he would actually get into positions where he looks like scoring. Sadly he doesn't, I look at this lad and other than the fact he can hold the ball up (which in fairness I could try my best at doing) he has absolutely no attributes to make a good striker

HawK
Need to get Shearer in to coach him how to finish. And how to hold the ball up And how to win free kicks
Aiston
People Used to be complaining Cisse only scored goals and rarely got involved with build up play. We now have someone who cannot really score goals...or really look like a threat in the box but gets involved in build up play...wish we had the former. Beren
Need to get Shearer in to coach him how to finish. And how to hold the ball up And how to win free kicks And how to hit a quick snapshot. He seems a nice guy, but he's shown precious little quality in any (meaningful) department really.

But we got Rafa so nevermind

Guest alijmitchell
I know it's miles off the same but I liken defending against mitro as I do when I play this big lad in our 7s league. Which is incredibly easy. He's strong, easy to niggle and get under the skin ( and therefore him lose focus) plays back to goal, doesn't move too much doesn't work channels. In effect you can almost allow him winning the first ball as well because you can concentrate on tracking runners off it. Since he offers little threat at the goal end of the pitch he isn't a worry. timeEd32
Confident he will be a very good player for us if given time, particularly if Rafa stays on.
SteveMc
Cundy (I know...) singing his praises on Talkshite last night. Excellent against Leicester he reckons in particular his hold up/ link up first half. I wouldn't disagree - still like him a lot

STM
Thought he was abysmal v Leicester. You are mistaken. He did everything other than score and we created zero chances for him.

Varadi
Will be very interesting to see him up top in a home game with Rafa in charge - if he can use him as the fulcrum of the attack and get Perez, Sissoko, Townsend breaking in behind him then he can definitely do a job. Problem against Leicester is we didn't get much support up with him, plus they are brilliant at pressing quickly and in numbers so he was never allowed to settle, hopefully not so much of an issue against the mackems. Figures 1-0 Football
If this bloke scores against the mackems, genuinely expect him to murder someone on the pitch in excitement and eat them raw.

Interpolic
I'm not sure how anyone could have watches the Leicester match and thought he was shit. Me neither, he played well. Obviously needs a goal but his all round play was pretty good on Monday.

Obviously needs a goal but his all round play was pretty good on Monday. His link up play is very good, if he can add a few goals to that he'd be a top class old fashioned centre forward. I think that'll come in time, he needs to develop his instincts in front of goal. Not just the finishing but the movement and anticipation too. He's not there yet and probably shouldn't have the responsibility of leading the line at this stage but that's what we've got and we'll just have to hope Rafa can get a bit more out him quickly. Getting Shearer in to give him some coaching would be interesting, I think he'd benefit massively.

I'm sorry but this is just absolute rubbish to think this guy will ever be a top class forward is ridiculous. This guy is 21 yet has absolutely no characteristics of a striker at all.1. He can't score, 2. He's as slow as shit no pace at all. 3. He never seems to jump for a header so no threat in the air, 4. He has no positional sense what so ever, 5. He can not think ahead or anticipate where he should be to be a dangerous threat to the opposition If you watch him it's like watching a Sunday league player who's trying his hardest. The guy isn't even as good as Shola was and that's a damning indictment Top class forward my Arse some of you on here need to remove the blinkers
