sempuki
He might be a great player in the future but he's not capable of getting the goals we need at the moment. Daft we seemingly relied on raw potential as our main forward.
AyeDubbleYoo
Guess Cisse being out is what brings the focus, we were probably blanking on him getting 10-15 goals.
triggs
Some people have absolutely abysmal opinions on this guy. Genuinely baffled as to what they expect from him sometimes Christ. It's not what we expect from him, it's what we expect from our main striker. We aren't getting it from Mitrovic, we haven't all season and it's one of the primary reasons we look like going down. I suppose it's borne out of some frustration at being at the match as well. People seem to be expecting him to be closing ppl down, winning every header, laying the ball off, scoring goals - there aren't many strikers who do that and if he could do all that, he certainly wouldn't be playing for this. Today wasn't his best game, but he missed one chance today. One. And in fairness, he didn't do that badly with it. It wasn't a glaring miss. I'd be interested to know what his actual conversion rate is compared to other strikers. Just think people judge him quite harshly - he bullied one of the best centre halves in the league (smalling) two weeks ago - he's clearly not shit. Clearly we shouldn't have ever been in a position where we solely relying on him for goals. We aren't relying solely on him to score goals, Wijnaldum has nearly 10 goals. Mitrovic hasn't scored from open play in 9 games, all of which were starts
ujpest doza
I thought he did okay today up front on his own with no support and hardly any service, unlucky not score with that shot in the first half.

Unlucky? It's just not good enough. Was low towards the corner and Gomes was going the other way and just got a foot to it?? I don't think he did a lot wrong other than sidefooting it instead of leathering it.
Shays Given Tim Flowers
The fuck was he supposed to do today. He was essentially Wilson from Castaway.

Parky
The bottom line is that the bloke is clearly a prospect but he shouldn't be carrying such a large burden, he isn't ready and it is actually hurting him - you can see his dismay every chance that goes by. The PL is a crunch league and forgives very little and we're certainly running out of time to put t his season straight. He just isn't the goal scorer we need RIGHT NOW. A striker should have been bought last week and should have played today...Watford is a game where we should have been looking for 3 points. It's irresponsible and irrational toward the club and the player the situation as it is.
TRon
Just watched the extended highlights on Football First. He didn't do a lot wrong tbh. None of those were sitters, he was far better than Troy Deeney, the only difference was that he didn't have an Ighalo alongside him.

You are right , Just hope we can get someone in who can score goals, it will lift everyone and maybe help Mitrovic also.

Put Giroud amongst that and he wouldn't have faired much better. Mitrovic just plodded along with what was given. Once again fans questioning his attitude, fucking disgrace tbh. It isn't just about this one game though. He hasn't scored from open play in 9 games. Atrocious for a striker. If Shola started nine games in a row you'd expect him to get at least one
BrettNUFC
Tbh I'm sick of fighting for Mitro's case. Fans love him, fans hate him. Fans have made their mind up now, no real changing of opinion.

It doesn't matter if you hate or love him, anyone should be able to see that he's not going to score enough goals this season to keep us up.
Gallowgate Toon
A more experienced striker puts that chance in the back of the net, like. It's an awesome opportunity.
Andy
We completely fail to play to his strengths. He spends the majority of every single match almost entirely isolated. When players get in and about him quickly and feed off his hold-up play we look dangerous but it just doesn't happen often enough. He's never going to be a 20+ goal striker but he's a perfect foil for a natural goalscorer with a bit pace. If our transfer strategy had any semblance of intent to build a team rather than a profit that's the kind of player we'd be breaking the bank on. Aiston
Hasn't scored a goal in open play for over a month now. Played more than double the time Cisse has this season....only scored 2 more goals than him. People don't like Cisse but fucking hell, at least he scored goals. Klaus
That shot in the first half was a 'safe shot', weak but hit the target and hope for the best. A sign of a striker low on confidence. It certainly doesn't help that we are guaranteed to concede at least one or two goals a game, so the pressure is always increased on our players to take the few clear chances we do create. We need to sign another striker and give this lad a stint, coming on as a sub. Will take the pressure off him and give the lad time to regain some confidence. It is easy to forget he is only 21 and spent only 6 months or so in a new country.

triggs
Does today not count like? We have conceded 41 goals in 23 league games. His worst run of scoring coincided with our best defensive run so that theory is a load of shit basically
Wallsendmag
"Not doing a lot wrong" isn't a positive. Did you watch the game or are you looking at the stats? I watched the full game and thought he was very poor. Doubt he'll get more than a 5/10 from any of the reporters there yesterday. In saying that, bar maybe the first 20 minutes nobody really had a decent game other than perhaps Elliott and Janmaat. For such an important game the worrying thing was there didn't seem much urgency to go and win it, especially against a team who had lost their last 4 league games.
