Guest neesy111
The reactions to a good majority if our fans to him coming back is slightly embarrassing tbh. It's like we've got a 30 goal season striker coming back. Wouldn't say it is embarrassing as such, but generally agree. He's not shown nearly enough so far to warrant the excitement IMO. Hopefully he has a good season. I think it's primarily due to him being exactly what we've missed in the opening games: a link from midfield to attack. Our gameplan is crying out for him, which as hinted in a previous post is probably intentional in preparation for his return. Yep, that's precisely it. It's easy to fall into the trap of lauding a player when he's out of the team; but with every passing game it just seems increasingly likely that he'll be pretty useful in this division. Especially with a fast, clinical striker alongide him and (hopefully) two decent wingers either side. As Dave says, he'll need to improve his finishing to be really effective - but we'll get goals as a direct result of him being in the side, whether he's the one converting them or not. Neck on the line I can see him getting about 10-12 and Gayle getting 15-20. We'll be finishing around 12th if that's the case.

I'd personally be disappointed now if Gayle only gets 11-16 in the next 42. So would I.

We'll have a lot of 1-0 wins this season. Plus others will score. Diame/Ritchie could get 10 each if their reputations are anything to go by. Carroll and Lovenkrands got less than 30 league goals between them last time we went up.

Yorkie
When Reading got promoted in 2012 they scored 69 goals and their top scorer had 12.
Tiotes Witch Doctor
Nothing to say Ritchie couldn't score 15-20 Mitro and and Gayle could get near 20 each and the rest could come from Diame who got 10 last season and maybe a few from shelvey few from hayden and a few from the CB's on corners and such. Plus we might even get a solid goalscoring winger yet and another striker capable of tucking a few away.
Heron
I suspect Ritchie will get like 10 max. He seems more provider than scorer. Think Gayle and Mitro could well get 50 between them though.
Hanshithispantz
Didn't Ritchie get about 15 last time he was in the Championship?
nemtizz
Yup. 17 assists, too.
Yorkie
25 each. Temper your expectations a bit, man. Dunno about you but I can't be fucked with the misery of Fulham/Huddersfield again. Most of that was because, deep down, all summer I'd been looking forward to us walking the division just like last time. Can't remember the last time I felt so sore after a couple of defeats. We might go up but it isn't going to happen the same way.
xLiaaamx
If Ayoze plays on the left then he'll get into goalscoring form at some point. Hayden looks dangerous at set pieces.
Klaus
I suspect Ritchie will get like 10 max. He seems more provider than scorer. Think Gayle and Mitro could well get 50 between them though. Calm doon. 50 between them ffs.

Calm doon. 50 between them ffs. Anno right? 50 each at least ffs Gayle could well get 30 at this rate so it's not that unrealistic. I don't see us winning many 1-0's with this defence... Tiotes Witch Doctor
Genuinely ecstatic this lad is back mind, hope he has a mint season, you would think 9 goals from 22 starts in the prem should equate to a decent goals return over the 42 games he should be available for. thomas
tbh I just don't get the mitro love but I don't outright hate him or anything. Just think he's an average striker at best and limited further by his temper. The passionate radgie archetype doesn't appeal to me.
