He's a fucking idiot for going for it knowing there was a chance of another yellow if he got it wrong. Play it safe at that point.

He offered nothing. He's got to improve big time and this is his opportunity while Gayle has been sidelined. He's completely squandered it.

Apart from the goal that won the game, the game we won 1-0. 99% of everything else you said i pretty much agree with.

It won us the game, but with Murphy or Gayle up there we wouldn't have been pinned back as much. The game changed when he went off and we weren't relying on Mitro popping up with a sitter.

Can't agree with that. Tactically we were awful (defence aside), hoof ball and Colback in midfield is doing us no favours at all. Gayle mind you would offer runs in behind which is key to Rafa tactics to be fair.

I think is unfair to blame the poor football performance on Mitro though, when imo it was us a team being awful with the ball for most of the game.

Giving yellow cards out for backing into a player ffs.

Ignoring the five or six occasions that Mitro was fouled and nothing was given.

He played well, although some people will hate that. We lacked his presence in the second half and had no outlet, it'd have been better bringing Murphy on for him. Taking him off was the correct decision though.

rafa took him off at half time because even if mitro had calmed down,he couldnt trust the referee.

yep- and a Calm Mitro is still quite clumsy- with Wolves players looking top exploit and a clown for a ref, this was going one way.

If anyone thinks the first yellow is justified, then their head should be put through a meat grinder.

maybe, but the dirty f***ers deliberate stamp on the keepers heel should have been a straight red.........idiotic thing to do

Didn't look deliberate at all to me. Stretched for the ball and landed on the keeper. Gotta put his foot down somewhere.

Was it a deliberate stamp?

He was stupid to put his leg that high to try and get the ball but I don't think he deliberately stamps on the keeper, his foot has to come down after being in the air

EDIT: What Rompe said

It depends if you accept the premise that going in with your studs raised is a dangerous challenge. Anyway, at some point we have to ask ourselves if it's just the majority of referees who are conspiring to keep punishing Mitrovic, or if he should be doing something different so he doesn't end up getting cards so often.

The worst thing about the challenge was him feigning injury tbh, it made him look guilty as fuck and if I was the referee I'd have probably been swayed to card him because of it as he blatantly wasn't injured - therefore was trying to win sympathy. It was Steven Taylor-esque.

The challenge itself was one that I couldn't complain if he was carded, but I don't think it was a certain yellow at all. I thought his first foul was though (the one before his actual yellow). He was watching their player and then went in with his arm.

:idiot2:

watch the sky's highlights, watch his eyes and his leg movement, he was in a whizz and stamped on his heel, hi foot goes deliberately on it.

try and deny it if you want but he meant it............hence he stayed down and knew he was in trouble

well the refs decision is the one that counts, he got away with it and he knew it.......its my opinion he meant it, i stand by it, he's a liability and a disgrace

Could well be wrong here but I thought Mitro went over on his ankle, hence the 'injury'.

Aside from the yellow/not yellow debates, I thought he played ok. Certainly had more of the old psycho that we first signed, which is the only way of getting any sort of performance out of him.

I'm not his biggest fan though.

His only arguable yellow was for the tackle on the keeper and sorry like but that was just a bit of a wreckless, Ill timed coming together. The commentators have probably watched 5mins of Mitros time here and made the assumption he's just a dirty bastard. Everyone is forgetting the blatant obstruction and climbing all over him all first half. One chance and one goal in a half of football that seen us create two chances. He had to be brought off for the good of Mitro and the team. Arguably his time may be done here but yesterday's substitution had no relevance other than ensuring a Toon win. People going on as if he was a liability and horse shit yesterday should try playing as a lone striker vs 4 cheats and see if they could do better. It's almost like some people have never played football before. Or would they just prefer a non contact sport? The eagles are canny mint like if non contact is what they prefer??
