Darth Crooks
Not going to lie, I don't really give a fuck about the comments, he works for the club. He's a class captain and has done more for the club then any player has in recent times. One set of quotes isn't going to change my opinion of him. He’s nowt speech like in hindsight. Sean
“Speaking honestly, and it might not be what everyone wants to hear, as a club I think it’s important everyone is together, especially when we’re right down at the bottom of the table,” said the Newcastle skipper. “I think the meal was really positive, having a sit down meeting for the first time, hearing him (Ashley) speak and seeing what he’s like as a man. He’s a nice guy. “I know fingers are being pointed at him, but I think it was a positive meeting and if it could happen more, I don’t think it would do any harm. “If there are divides, I think it creates problems. If everyone in Newcastle stopped the negativity and tried to form a unity, that would help. “When there are problems going on around off the pitch, it does have an effect on you as players. It would help if everyone came together and put all that bad energy into positive energy, helping us get three points. That’s what everybody wants.” Easy for him to say. Wow. I'm really fucking angry now, thought Jamaal had a backbone. Think he's probably already got his next club lined up now tbh. We do need to be united, but we need to be united against this regime that's allowing our club to rot. "Problems going on around off the pitch" - yeah the owner is the problem ffs. Could the Magpie Group or similar write a public letter to Jamaal setting out many fans reasoning? See if he cares enough to respond.

Cheeky bastard, everyone was behind the team and we had unity only one bloke responsible for fucking that up is Nice Guy Mike.

Scoreboard82
Stop the negativity and just enjoy the mediocracy, like good little peeps? Nah, y'alreet, Jamaal. Those are the comments I'm disappointed in. I can live with the 'Nice guy' quote, him having only met Ashley once in an informal setting.
Minhosa
Protesting works, and will work. Wonder how much it cost Mike for this bit of PR from Jamaal? Ashley's behaviour has changed massively with only the slightest bit of pressure applied. Turning up to games, crying about MP's, the whole Sports Direct not tweeting for weeks and running to the police after a few not so nice tweets, taking the players out for a meal, this suspicious new contract. Probably more that I can't think of now too. But its clear as day protesting works. Agreed. He's a thin-skinned cunt, the fat bastard. Lasellout's a fucking prick. Dinho lad
Those comments from Lascelles can be interrupted as addressing Mike Ashley's faults, as well. (Albeit in implicit manner) He clearly is not necessary siding with Ashley here or complimenting him on what's he's done. (But he has his own interest to protect, as well)
Big Geordie
I'm arguing with a 'superfan' on FB at the moment, who has declared that he is a better supporter than me, because I choose to stay away in support of a futile cause. What a bellend.
Guest firetotheworks
Don't waste your energy, and I say that as someone who finds it really difficult to ignore these utter clowns.
Kasper
One thing to think that but ridiculously disrespectul to the fans to actually come out and say that in public.
AyeDubbleYoo
Just shows how out of touch and thick most players are TBH. Don’t much about the tactics of the game never mind the politics. I do feel a bit hypocritical for excusing Rafa but slamming Lascelles mind. I think it’s because of how much more personal these comments are. Sean
Whats just as bad is that he had a chat and "a laugh" with the fat cunt, but "didn't really talk about football". Why the fuck not? What the fuck was the point in the fucking meal then? He's much less of a man than I assumed.
Big Geordie
One thing to think that but ridiculously disrespectul to the fans to actually come out and say that in public. Mind, there are some anti-Ashley supporters who are calling match going fans 'scabs'. That doesn't help either.
Dinho lad
As someone said on some other page, he's just another player (albeit he actually care more than others). Ultimately his own career comes first - and I can understand that.

JToon7
Why are people so shocked to hear the club captain saying the same shit the manager has been coming out with? Rafa has been saying for months how he doesn't want to see the fans protesting and to get behind the team. Haven't seen anyone calling Rafa a cunt and turning on him though. AyeDubbleYoo
Like I said above, I think it’s because Lascelles has gone so much further than necessary and gone into what a great bloke Mike is.

Sean
On the radio phone in he says "we as players don't know what goes on on social media...dont have any time in our downtime to get a handle on how fans think" basically was the line he was peddling. The whole bond between the fans and players has been built on them being aware of fans on social media etc. Another lie. He's in full on bullshit mode.
