Disco
Well, once again Rafa bails us out. Pity that Simeone isn't obliging too. You must be loving that appointment I just hope he sort of hangs in there, if he does too badly he might get sacked before it's too late. Bar getting Ancelotti back there's nowt they can do either really.

Mole_Toonfan
As if the manager is the problem with Real, they have long standing issues for years which still haven't been rectified. Firstly their front 3 don't play together as a unit like Barca's do they play as individuals, which is why it all falls flat on it's face against the better teams more often not. As talented as some of their midfielders are, for the most part they all want to do similar things and it doesn't fit into the fabric of the team. All this combined results in a fractured team which is split up into parts instead of linking together like Barca's and Bayern's do and hell PSG for that matter, not to mention their fullbacks can't defend and their defenders are all extremely aggressive leading them to make errors in judgement which are not necessary and a personal pet hate of mine in defending. Ancelotti got around it by having at least one fullback who could defend and in Di Maria he had a player who was a one man counter attack and a ridiculous amount of energy to cover ground. What are you are going to do with this though? no one is making a team consist of Ronaldo, James Rodriguez, Bale, Benzema, Isco, Modric and Kroos balanced. The real problem here is Florentino Perez and has been for years and ultimately his decision making has been a huge factor in Barca's dominance since the Ronaldinho signing who he unforgivably turned down for Beckham. Nobody
Isn't it the managers job to get the front 3 playing as a team? That's not the problem with Benitez at Real Madrid anyway. First of all, he's not a top class manager, which is what they should always have. Second, he is not a Real Madrid type of manager, he's way too defensive for them. It worked for Mourinho for a while because he is that good, but Benitez isn't on the same level as him.
The College Dropout
92 points last year. 118 goals. No Di Maria. The best team in La Liga, everyone playing well until the Xmas break. Perez is the problem because he sacked Ancelotti and replaced him with fucking Rafa, a move that everyone knew was a terrible, terrible idea. This same team, 12 months ago with less depth where fantastic. The team isn't as good as Barcelona but if they could've replicated last seasons points tally, I reckon that would be enough to win the league this year. Kaizero
I have no idea why anyone would ever think Rafa would fit in at Real.

Village Idiot
Those 3 months were Real Madrid looked great were bookended by 12 months were they looked unassuming except the occasional game (let's not forget that they had given up on the league when they won La Décima the year prior). At some point you have to accept that Real Madrid's level is not the one displayed during those 3 months, but probably closer to the other 12. They have a collection of great players that can carry them, but there's no team in there. For example our midfield looks poorer on paper, but we have players with the different profiles and skillsets required to build a balanced midfield. Meanwhile they have Kross, James and Modric - great players but not a balanced midfield. People yell at Rafa playing Casemiro, but at the end of the day he's their only midfielder with any kind of defensive nous. Pérez has mangled the team like he mangled the Galácticos during his first stint. Long may it continue.

Disco
Paulinho scored 2-1 in the 90th minute to take Scolaris Guangzhou Evergrande to the semi-final of the Club World Cup. Hiroshima are beating Mzembe right now. This tournament is very small in Europe right? In South America it's the biggest thing you can win basically as a club. Yeah, over here it's the EL of tinpot cups. Most people here are arguing whether it will hurt our league chances like Real Madrid seemed to crash and burn right after winning it last season. It would be a bit of an embarrassment if we lost, mind. Meanwhile Neymar is crazy about playing it, even if that means doing it while nursing an injury. It used to be big though didn't it? like 20-30 years ago? Supposed to be about 15,000 River fans going over.

Astroblack
Lamps was good last time he was on it. Slotted in real well with practically no experience. He's articulate and likable. He's also one of my favorite players ever. Though, I did like Bellamy speaking so fondly of SBR last week.
