Newcastle United 1-1 Aston Villa - Official Thread (post match from pg25)

Love to know how many times Mitrovic touched the ball with his feet. Seemed absolutely f*** all. Did alright competing in the air though

You've got to be kidding me.

His footwork to setup Ayoze leading up to Gini's miss for starters.

You definitely weren't watching the game.

McLaren you coward.

Do explain.

Not starting with Mitrovic, Ayoze and starting fucking dickhead Colback yet again. Doesn't really need highlighting.

How does that constitute him being a coward? We'd won the last the two games with the same starting line up.

We've not scored a single goal with that forward line in the last two games. All four goals have been after the introduction of Perez.

People hoy around 'coward' and 'fraud' like they're going out of fashion. Really quite odd.

It's Pardew 101.

Keep it tight for the first hour then "throw the magic on"

Most of us agree Perez should've started. It was a poor choice, but the "coward" bit is yet to be explained as de Jong isn't exactly a defensive hard-worker.

Four?

Yes, four.

Sorry thought you meant this game and the spurs game.  Not liverpool and spurs.

We're so crap at linking play, like. When we speed it up, we can't control it. Mitro was poor which didn't help when we needed an alternative outlet.

Nah Mitro did some great link up play and the service up to him was totally shocking with ball just being hoofed up to him from Dummett. To get good link up play you one have to have the right balls played up to your centre forward and we didn't do that for the majority of the game. You can't link play up very well when the ball is three yards above your head nearly every time.

From Foluwashola as well.

U wot m8.

Anyone at anywhere other than NUFC are creeps, dribbling messes and a whole other host of hyperbolic stuff. Anyone throwing any sort of accusatory stuff at NUFC are odd, weird, creeps, 'crying cybertears' etc.

His username is the forename of one of the worst NUFC players ever. He should be excused.

Colback is though.  We already have Anita in the middle, we're at home against a side even shitter than us and we've had two good results in a row. It was time to turn the screw, but he thought he'd play it safe.  That's a coward in my book.

I don't really understand Wijnaldum. He either seems to be awesome or utterly shit. He seems to play a 10 or a 3. There doesn't seem to be much inbetween in how he plays. He had one good moment today with what should have been an assist for De Jong, but apart from that his touch was awful and his finishing of that chance was bizarre. All of our players need contact lenses getting, as they don't seem to see the ball coming and time it properly.

I thought the conditions didn't help us tbh. We score our goals on the break mostly but it was pretty difficult to counter quickly with the ball holding up in the water.

McClaren out thought by Garde today as the conditions got worse. They went more direct to counter act the poor surface, where we brought on more dribblers and simply couldn't get down the pitch quick enough. We could have won it, but mostly because Villa are pretty dreadful. They won't stay up based on that. We barely look like staying up and we have a ten point head start on them. The only positive from that is that we maintained that gap.

Yeah we should have changed our game based on the conditions, no argument there.

Is it just me who thought we were ok? De Jong, Wijnaldum, Mitrovic and Sissoko all missed big opportunities, and they scored from one great strike that Janmaat could have defended better. Dummett was given the runaround most of the game making the need for a proper left back apparent in January. I thought Anita had a good game.

I just hope Cisse isnt in the squad next week. He just never looks like doing anything but giving away obsession. Straight after he was subbed we looked more dangerous, though I quite like De Jong.
