Jonjo Shelvey (now playing for Çaykur Rizespor, on loan from Nottingham Forest)

Was there a nigggly issue before he chased a ball down and went out of his way to push one of their players on the back of the head ? (First half, minutes before he got kneed in the back to win a free kick ?) Just seemed petulent and I didn't see if he'd been provoked.

There was nothing in it, didn’t even make the highlights. They got tangled up for a second and their bloke went whinging to the ref.

It was more than getting tangled. Shelvey ran well out of his way to have a go at him. There was little in it in truth but the sort of thing milked by some players and many refs fall for it.

Hogg is a right little scrote like.

He was having an argument with his own keeper shortly before he pretended Shelvey broke his jaw. Strutted around the pitch with his arms out like Mr Big Bollocks but went scampering off to the referee to whinge and moan at any opportunity.

There was absolutely nothing in the Shelvey incident at all. He was lucky to stay on the field, but obviously our opponents don’t ever get sent off so it was to be expected.

In the same mold as Cattermole and McManaman - tosser.

Exactly who he reminds me of, same faux-hardman act, no talent and just tries to half people all game till his legs go.

How did he play yesterday, did he boss the game and how was his stamina levels towards the end?

Bossed the game but was blowing out of his arse at the end. They were attacking on the edge of the box and he was stood with his hands on his knees, would have got absolutely pelted if they’d have scored.

He was good without being oustanding imo, him and Diame controlled the midfield and had some good interplay. Shame Gayle missed that lob, he deserved an assist for that pass. Diame for me though was immense again, players bouncing off him, great work ethic in winning the ball back all the time.

I don’t think that side of his game (stamina) can ever be improved, but it’s good to learn he bossed the game.

First half he was really good (as was Diame) but 2nd half wasn't as involved. Some of his passes that led to quick counters were quality. And for me his ability to protect the ball and keep possession is top drawer.

Fair enough if he doesn't go to the World Cup, but he should at least be given a chance in the friendly matches. Can't see it though.
