On what planet is Pickford worth £30m?

tbf, he's probably the best young english keeper around, add to that January is silly money so any offer would have to be big, i admit £30 million is maximum high end but talk to Makems and they go £50 million !!

maybe 20-30 million 2 weeks ago, irrelevant now

I'm not getting this at all, how is Pickford the best young English keeper around when's he's done fuck all?

He's played about 15 top flight games, made some decent saves, made some poor ones and now he's the most expensive goalkeeper in football history?

He's not even been brilliant like say Tim Krul on his debut at 17 and he's coming up 23. When you compare to Jack Butland who is only a year older but actually had a proper career then it's ridiculous talk, and really only them doing the talking as usual.

Why the hell would they sell him for less than £10m?

Absolutely desperate for money, otherwise they cant strengthen any other areas themselves.

Is anyone realistically going to come in with a bid in excess of £10m? Not a chance imo. Who needs a goalkeeper that badly that they'll panic and pay over the odds for him?

If an offer comes in of £8m, would they take it? - 100% think they would.

So desperate for money they'd increase their chances of relegation from the Premier League for £8m? Sure.

Would selling Pickford for £8m increase their chances of relegation if they bought in two or three players for areas they are incredibly short for talent?

Lets not forget they bought Kone and Kirchoff last January for very low fees that ultimately gave them the best chance of staying up. £8m could do that.

Mannone (although rusty yesterday) is more than capable in goal whereas they have many areas on the pitch that they need to improve significantly.

Think they'd take £10m upfront, with addons and maybe a loan (not sure if they've reached their limit or not) or something thrown in the other way, especially if he's about to miss the best part of 3 months.

Its about resource management if Moyes is to be believed (no money), 2-3 outfield signings could spark the reaction to getting them out of trouble, again. Don't forget they are a club that is very short-sighted and its all about staying in the division, whatever the cost (usually morals, decency and integrity)

On what planet is Pickford worth £30m?

Planet 'where they said we would never get that fee for Sissoko- and watched as we did'. Now any safc players who has half a dozen decent games, 30m is the default starting point.

now apply this thinking to everything.......Sunderland,

Just seen on twitter that all kids tickets are £1 for their match tomorrow. Pretty desperate stuff for what is probably their most attractive fixture of the season.......Liverpool, on a Bank Holiday, not on the telly. These are screwed if they go down because TV revenue is basically their only decent source of revenue.
