afar
Genuinely didn't even know who McInnes was and had to Google him when I saw him linked. Same, you never know but looks like a huge reach if he is their man. I wonder how long it's going to take them to appoint, they should absolutely take their time an appoint the right man but the clock is ticking and there is a huge job to do there, it's not just a few little tweaks. They've firstly got to decide who they want to retain, then start to move their limited saleable assets on in the hope to find some funding for signings. I'm pretty sure clubs are already starting to talk to the PL clubs about the better loan players, they need to get in line now. Take your time Sunderland

bhoywhonder
If Monk goes to the paedos he'll surely be taking a step down - at least his Leeds team knew what to expect in the (as we now know, inherently winnable) pub league and were pretty close to a play-off berth. He would be taking on a team(?) with no motivation, very little ability and a bunch of absolute cretins in the stand ready to chuck their wads of free tickets at him after his second home defeat. As For McInnes? Meh, *shrug* go for it, who cares.
Pilko
Not sure Monk's stock has fallen low enough for him to be that desperate and take the mackem job. Guarantee it'll be a rookie (Giggs, Sewper Kev, Bally) or a naff, uninspiring has-been (Lambert, Curbishley, Pards etc) I'd love to see them go back for Brewce, would be fantastic. henke
I can't explain why but I'd love to see Giggs fail at management, and Sunderland would be the perfect place.

Mick
2nd reply - classy - what a w***** https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/benitez.1367178/ A mackem lying in bed at 1am on a Saturday morning has nothing more on his mind that Rafa, I actually like that. They are gutted and some show it more than others. A year ago we were down and we didn't care because we knew that we were in safe hands and even in defeat we knew that things were going to only get better and it was only a matter of time until we'd start seeing it in results. A year on and they're in our position, except that they have nothing to grasp on to other than they've got rid of an unpopular manager. We did the same and we struck gold, they're much more likely to appoint a turd. They're likely to get a manager who is at best second rate and they're likely to have a budget that wouldn't compare favourably to a corner shop, they're more than likely screwed. The only thing they look forward to is beating us and that's not going to happen any time soon, there's no way they'll be competing with us while we have probably the best manager we've ever had. When we beat them 5 times in a row and that mostly down to psychology and their managers being cowards and the same goes for them beating us 6 in a row, our managers were cowards. They're not getting a manager who will psych Rafa out and Rafa will never go into a derby game thinking he's second best. Their whole reason for existing has been flushed down the toilet and they know it. If we can stay up this season we'll be out of sight.
