Raconteur
In a "thinking too much" mode, but I thought that a lot of the quotes from "an associate of the Spaniard" in George Caulkin's article led me to think he wants to stay. The sorts of things about poor recruitment and wanting to get the club to the Champions League level don't sound like a man about to leave. He wants to reform the club, top to bottom, and I think he wants to do that whether we stay up or go down. Additionally, he made it obvious he wants a project in England - well, fixing NUFC has to be close to the biggest project in England. All we can hope for is that Ashley has had his hands burnt so badly he says "Fine Rafa, you make it work."

Stifler
Good to see the crowd singing his name, hopefully that might persuade him to stay or the club to keep him on if we do go down.

Mick
He got the starting 11 right and his substitutions made the difference when we looked as if we were on the ropes, the man is a genius.
AyeDubbleYoo
This was the plan he's been trying for a while, except we didn't shoot ourselves in the foot in the first 10 minutes this time.

I wasn't sure about the Shelvey one, but Tiote was on a yellow so he was probably the only logical replacement.

Wullie
Nigel Pearson would have won 5-0.

Mick
Nigel Pearson would have won 5-0. We would have been mid-table by now.

Guest Montezuma0
Superb result when it mattered most No way he stays if we drop though; any highs from today will be forgotten in the misery of relegation
Pilko
Got it spot on today. I must admit I was fucking raging at the team selection, but it worked better than I thought and his subs were well timed and intelligent. Lascelles is already better than Taylor ever was IMO. Love seeing someone in our defence actually take responsibility.

Guest firetotheworks
He makes the decisions that seem a bit odd, but make sense once you see the way that the team's been told to play. An absolute world away from the constant combination of contradictory player choices and tactics that we had under Pardew and McClaren. Benitez is actually smart when he makes these decisions, as opposed to managers who, imo, seem to make those decisions just to make it look like they're smart. An absolute world away from the constant combination of contradictory player choices and tactics that we had under Pardew and McClaren. When I saw the team in the pre-match thread I could see what he was going for straight away, don't concede in the first half, then make the changes as the game went on to try and win it. It's pretty gratifying to see a manager's plan actually work almost to the letter. It makes me wonder what next season will be like if we stay up. It could be a beautiful thing.
