Guest ElCid
The fact he hasn't already quit tells me he will almost certainly stay until the summer. I don't think he will leave us for a West Ham. Would you quit if you had to pay 5 million it's the only reason he hasn't already however when another club pays it then he will be off
Zero
It will be interesting to see Rafa's reaction if West Ham agree to pay the compensation and Ashley gives permission for him to talk to them, he might just think "what's the point" Why is Ashley permission needed here if West Ham willing to pay it? Si
Because it's tapping up our manager.
AyeDubbleYoo
It's not a release clause is it? It's more like compensation due, which West Ham would agree to cover instead of Rafa himself. So it doesn't automatically give them the right to talk to him, they would have to ask NUFC for permission. I guess we would give permission so it's a moot point in a way. He won't go until at least the end of the season IMO.
Zero
Because it's tapping up our manager. Tapping up players are "banned", but is tapping up managers banned as well? Never heard of this.
CPL
Given the market for players now, surely 5 mil is fuck all to obtain the services of a manager of aRafa's calibre Exactly!
Guest
You're better than working under this bloke Rafa. http://www.football.london/west-ham-united-fc/transfer-news/david-sullivan-west-ham-carvalho-13564987?service=responsive
xLiaaamx
Proper pair of wide boys Gold and Sullivan. Feel sorry for Bilic because they're clearly scapegoating him.
Darth Crooks
Fucking ridiculous we've gone from, within a month, talking about 5 year projects with Rafa to whether he makes the January window or not. It's a sick joke.
Ketsbaia
West Ham's upcoming fixtures are superb, on paper. Let's hope they win a few.
Kanj
f***ing ridiculous we've gone from, within a month, talking about 5 year projects with Rafa to whether he makes the January window or not. It's a sick joke. 100% with this.
Paully
He is very pissed-off and extremely let-down but he is staying......for now Over to the fat wanker of an owner!
Wallace
West Ham are not much of an improvement on us. I would hate for him to leave us to go there. They are quite liberal with the truth themselves and look at how they are trying to undermine Bilic in public at the moment. They will spend more on a single player than we will but Sullivan likes to buy players himself so the manager doesn't always get to choose. They might promise to cede control to Rafa to get him to sign but I think they will find it difficult not to interfere. When he leaves, I hope it will be to a genuinely bigger club. Tried to say the same thing on this thread a few pages back but did not put it as well as this. If West Ham owners are better than Ashley it is not by much, and imo not worth him risking it. A proper football club would be a different proposition....
Chicane
West Ham have wanted Rafa for a while though. And they'll want to appease the fans so will give him a load to spend.
Jaehyun
West Ham have wanted Rafa for a while though. And they'll want to appease the fans so will give him a load to spend. Surely an outsider would have thought this about us too though. Didn't work out that way for us, and see no real indication that it will for West Ham. Chicane
I think the difference is that West Ham's owners care about their club and are somewhat ambitious. They might be crooked as fuck as well but that's more than can be said about Ashley.
Eddy Chibas
West Ham's upcoming fixtures are superb, on paper. Let's hope they win a few. It's the ideal time to hire a top coach (like Rafa) who is capable of re-energizing the squad and give them the 'new manager' bounce. Sleepwalking through an appetizing set of upconing fixtures with a "dead man walking" manager amounts to commiting suicide, from the perspective of risking their seat on the EPL Gravy Train. wormy
Christ. After all of this, imagine if Redknapp came and Ashley let him spend. We'd definitely end up with Defoe next season.
