Unless I've missed something, Rafa's got a 3 and a bit years contract with a get out clause on his side if we go down. I would have thought the "management" of our club would have been so desperate to get Rafa that they wouldn't have thought, or dared, to put in a get out clause on their side of the contract.

Hopefully, it's solely his call whether to stay or not, regardless of results this season. I still think he'll fuck off if we go down though.

OTOH, they might have felt the get-out clause would be necessary to get him in the first place. It's not like Rafa would have said, "nah, we don't need that." He's not an idiot.

Like I said, it will in no way affect his work for the club. Flexible employment terms > inflexible employment terms.

Even if the mad b****** wanted to stay next season, he'd have to take a huge pay cut for Ashley to even consider it.

    i doubt  it.  ..

I am the Newcastle manager and I am going to be Newcastle manager next year

That's surprisingly unequivocal.

Where's that from? Most articles say he 'wants' to be here next season rather than 'will' be.

Then when asked if he would stay if we got relegated, he said he has confidence we will stay in the PL and that's it.

What the fuck kind of newspaper is this? Got "news" on their front page about a woman with a worm in her vagina and the information that pornstars seem to think a penis the size of a forearm is optimal, which is bad news for the "average guy"

If he wants Newcastle back in the premiership he wont.

I bet in 2008-9 he'd have looked at Taylor as someone to exploit, yet here he is starting him over Lascelles. May have cost us our status.

[emoji38]no not really.

Disagree personally we kept hold of the previous useless cunt far too long and manage to make a hash of both Windows in the process.

Picking Saylor is due to the lack of options and the overall poor quality of our defence.

Lascellas has had a couple of steady games but he's no fucking world beater.

He only has to be vaguely competent at the basic aspects of defending to be a far better option than Taylor, though.

I can't understand why Gini is starting especially in cm

Think the idea is he links the attack and midfield with Shelvey as the Pivot.

I can only assume he feels no one else is suitable to play the role.

You do not appoint Rafa to keep you up with 10 games to go, not at a club that has been fighting relegation for a few years and has a rotten set of players. His methods take time.

Regardless, I don't think anyone could keep this sorry bunch up. They should never have appointed SMC in the first place and should not have stuck by him for so long.

Everyone at that club deserves relegation except for Rafa and his staff and the general day to day and match staff. The owner, the MD, Carr, the players, the fans... they all deserve what's coming.

Popcorn time for me, I hope the whole shit stain of a club that used to be Newcastle United crashes and burns. Rafa is far too good for this club, I hope he doesn't stay on.

Yeah I kinda wish he had never come here tbh, fake optimisim, if only for a week or two makes this so much harder to deal with.

I hope we go down to division 1, Ashley finallys sells the club and we can start rebuilding, as until he is gone we will never be ran properly.

Touching the ball once in a while would be handy for this role

It's always a massive problem when you get a new manager in who doesn't know which players will let him down. He's gone for experience in Taylor and it's turned out as expected. What's really cost us has been those back to back wins before Christmas. If we'd got someone in then we would have had time to turn it round. We might have spent that money in January on players who could make a difference as well.
