Wallace
I think West Ham have given Bilic until the next international break so this might just be a brief respite before it all starts again. Bilic is in the last year of his contract so that is highly unlikely to be renewed. Wouldn't be surprised if theydo want Rafa to get rid of Bilic in December so Rafa has the January window. Mind you the West Ham fans are complaining about their manager not being backed and with Sullivan coming out with statements that they don't believe are true and are aimed at undermining Bilic. I can just imagine Rafa leaving and the incoming stooge being given a decent transfer budge which would be absolutely galling.
Zero
The problem with West Ham is their manager doesn't have the control over transfer. Bilic is not a bad manager but there is a serious lack of understanding between the manager and the players. I can't see Rafa work well there. Arsenal at season end is a good shout. Two managers willfully leaving NUFC to manage West Ham and Crystal Palace within the space of four years would be genuinely disgraceful. I don't want to even contemplate it. Crumpy Gunt
So, he's been walked all over by Ashley and his cronies and hasn't walked. Pardew, McClaren etc. all brow beaten and walked all over and didn't have the balls to quit. It seems the lure of that big contract can sway the thoughts of any manager including Rafa. Apparently he's getting "WELCOME" stitched onto the back of all his kit.

But as it stands Rafa has behaved no better or worse.

Charlies
http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/resigned-newcastle-boss-rafa-benitez-13562052.amp job with a new remit Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez is not going to walk away from St James' Park - but NUFC are vulnerable to offers BY MARK DOUGLAS08:00, 2 SEP 2017UPDATED17:47, 1 SEP 2017 Rafa Benitez watched events unfold on Thursday’s transfer deadline with an air of resignation – but he won’t be resigning. Benitez anger has been well-documented throughout the summer after a perceived change of strategy from the one he believed had been agreed with Newcastle’sowner Mike Ashley but Thursday will not prompt him to walk away from a job that now takes on a very different dimension to the one he hoped he would be doing this season. The remit is now survival by any means necessary – and Benitez will get to work putting together the pieces to deliver a finish as high as possible. Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez(Image: Newcastle United) It was always accepted by the manager that last minute business would be difficult and that the club’s mistakes earlier in the window – Benitez’s own words – had changed the game. Although he wanted squad additions – and had implored the board to get four more – he never felt it would be a game-changing final week. Benitez has been told there will be resources for him in January but the worry now is whether another club in the Premier League will take advantage of the problems at Newcastle and poach a manager who has aspirations of managing in European club football again soon. West Ham look the likeliest of destinations and Slaven Bilic is on borrowed time. Against that is Benitez’s feeling that he has an obligation to Newcastle’s fans and players for this year at least. It spells trouble for the summer at the latest. For his part Ashley feels he has kept his side of the bargain and there was a request to stop talking in such negative terms about the club’s business after the 3-0 win over West Ham. He was understood to be mulling over releasing a statement clarifying what the club have done, what was agreed and to set out the club’s policy – although that would hardly calm a situation that needs to settle down if Newcastle are going to avoid further problems. Uncertainty hangs over the club’s politics once again: the role of Justin Barnes in a second successive transfer window is one of the biggest questions. Benitez says his dealings are with Lee Charnley, but the presence of one of Ashley’s confidantes at Newcastle has changed things at St James’ Park. Tiresias
Not sure Rafa to be fair will not be impressed with an owner publically slagging off a manager still in his employ. West Ham's owners may be more willing to spend money but hardly great.
